Also i think the don't allow bus fumes in bars and restaurants either.
If you're eating al fresco you could inhale bus fumes. I'd imagine you'd inhale more toxic fumes eating outside a restaurant on a sidewalk than you would having some guy puffing on an ecig at the next table. They should ban outdoor dining.

You are an idiot to not know that the components of ambient air have no concern if they are inside or outside a building for you to inhale.

I don't want your cell phone conversation. Ban that?

If you knew what goes on in most restaurant kitchens you would welcome the bus fumes to numb the head a little before eating.

there is still the second effect, they are still exhaling nicotine that may offend others
They are getting more nicotine from eating certain vegetables, such as a potato, than they would be from second hand e cig vapor

I don't want to smell someone's stinking perfume/cologne while I'm at dinner. I don't want to watch an obese person shovel food in their mouths while I eat. I can either deal with it or I can eat at home.

Frisco, TX just passed the same ordinance.
I'm fine with these ordinances passing IF that same city banned the sale of real cigarettes in the city limits (at least)

E-Cigs aren't "banned," you're just banned from using them in restaurants, bars, theaters, etc...
They've applied the 'no smoking' rules in public places to e-cigs. You can still buy them in LA.
The title of this thread is somewhat misleading.

Which is absurd.

And you can, not be such a whiny little bitch about some fricking water vapor that you can't smell, and probably can't see unless you're looking for it.

It's easier to pretend to be some sort of victim.

I quit smoking cigarettes 4 months ago cold turkey no nic patches, nic gum, or e-cigs. I have 3 co-workers that are using the e-cig to wean themselves off cigarettes. I should be very sensitive to vapors if they were to contain nicotine. One of my co-workers vaps in his office next to mine and I have not even noticed. I think people are being self-righteous about "Not wanting vapors in my food". Seriously find something important to "fix".

Question for the board: How many e-cigarettes would it take to equal the amount of harmful chemicals emitted by a bus owned by the City of Los Angeles?
They allow buses in restaurants?

what are you taking about
If i smokes a cigarett in a 2x2 room with you you would inhale more of it if i smokes it outside with you.
thats just basic physics . Its the difference between running your car in your garage and running it outside.
Will some bus fumes get in? sure, but they are dispersed. Cigarettes in a bar don't have as much room to disperse as bus fumes outside.

But what about water vapor? Which is what we're talking about here.

Water vapor with nicotine in it.

i would assume vapor would also have less room do disperse in a bar as it does outside. Physics applying to all gases. (is the vapor a gas? or a fine mist?)
I think it is better safe than sorry at this point. I don't think you should be allowed to sit there and shoot any chemical into the air in a restaurant.
