I'm it telling you silly. Near the highway off a 2 lane road.

With better and cheaper fracking operations, it's going to happen sooner rather than later in my opinion. I know of several companies getting involved. Devon is one. There is an H&P rig around Woodville now. A poster on here is the son of the Directional Driller on it. I'd like to find out if that is what they are aiming for. I really hope it picks up because it would be so close for me and I'm needing to catch on with someone soon. Been out too long.

I got 10k per acre for Haynsville. Too bad I only had about 1/64th of an acre.

There is a good bit of activity off HWY 570 and the Meadville Rd coming out of Liberty. I am about 10 miles north of Liberty and havent seen anything yet.

What's with the name of the shake being called Tuscaloosa?

quote:hopefully its a good formation bc we hav clients there
but I know there must be a hell of a lot of oil down there, as the production companies have spent a literal fortune leasing up land across CenLa...

We have about 20 acres of family land near Centreville. Otherwise, the land I own is about 12-15 miles from paydirt. My luck sucks.

More than you know. Big ole' checks can make it all worthwhile but quality of life in those little towns is gonna take a big hit. Equipment running all night, roads full of big trucks and more than a few brand new truck drivers, out of town workers with pockets full of money and dope, and that doesn't even touch on the whether the fracking really contaminates ground water and fisheries.
I've spent most of my life as one of those travelling workers and I understand perfectly why the locals didn't care for me and my merry band of fools. Jobs and prosperity can come at a heavy price. Even without a lease you can get rich though. Truckstops and liquor stores and bail bondsmen will make a killing.

Lots of formations are named where they outcrop on the surface. This I believe is one. I'm also laughing at some of the incorrect information in this thread.

Didn't Devon just sell everything they had in the area?

Goodrich bought their acreage.
The influx of people that will be in the area if this hits big time is hard to imagine. Permits have been approved to build a man camp on the south end of West Feliciana parish.
Wilkinson Co has already said their water system is tapped out and they can't afford to drill a new one and their roads suck as it is. Smite Co isn't that much better.
I read somewhere that all the companies came to some sort of agreement or plan ahead of time to avoid the high lease prices that happened in NLA. Smite Co school recently lease 5k acres at auction that went for about 5 million.

I've been half arse following it cause we have about 6k acres in the area but I'm not real confident anything is going to happen

Tuscaloosa is the name of a Native American Chief from the De Soto days. Tuscaloosa translates to English as "Black Warrior".

I'm probably friends with half the landmen in Lafayette.
Property is owned by a trust so I'd assume they would contact attorney.....I don't get involved
