I'm trying to justify buying a new Curado but I can't. Plus I'm closing on a house in a couple of weeks so I'm saving my pennies.

I know that feel.

Had kid in October, wife finishing masters while not working...

All of mine was bought with Christmas money and my birthday money in February, I HATE not having extra money to spend.

Its good for a just specs but it'll be hard on the rod to tackle a stray bull red.

I run a ML-M on purely trout rod, but a MH on my casting rod that I use for reds only.

ETA: Serious question. Trying to get at least 1 dedicated inshore setup.

Your spinning set-up should be able to handle throwing popping corks, etc... for inshore. I think a 7' medium or medium-light is a great rod for inshore if targeting specks and marsh reds. If you want to target bulls, your frog rod is stout enough to handle them. Obviously the more technique specific you get, the more detailed your rod choices need to be.

As a general rule, I think bass fishermen tend to over-power their rods especially if you're using braid.

Ok so basically I would be safe with what I have now?

I have never fished inshore saltwater, so I would be doing the basics and this would be a once or twice a year occurance.

If I ever get my damn reels back from being cleaned/traded for drugs/hostage or whatever else he is doing with them.

Especially on such a limited basis, bass fishing tackle should be adequate for targeting inshore saltwater fish.

List your rod length, power and action and reels paired with those rods for us to judge.

A couple hundred, mostly just fresh bait and licenses.

However, this year I'm getting a so, it'll be significantly more.

I feel like this is an invitation to the boiler room

7'3 H/XF - 7:1 - 50#PP+20#FL

6'6 MH/F - 6:1 - 15# Copoly

6'10 M/XF Spin - 2500 - 15#PP+12#FL

I just didnt want to show up to the salt life GTG in May and everyone be like "Pop what the frick are you working with here?"

This broomhandle is plenty stout enough for targeting bulls in the passes, but probably too heavy for any spec or inside fishing.
quote:

6'6 MH/F - 6:1 - 15# Copoly

This will work fine for jig heads, spinnerbaits, or carolina rigging some cocahoes, maybe even throwing a spoon.

6'10 M/XF Spin - 2500 - 15#PP+12#FL

This will be great for throwing popping corks, lighter jigheads, smaller top water, etc...

I think you should be well covered with those options. If you add anything, get a 7' medium/mod rod. There is a Falcon HD that should fit this bill quite nicely. This would be a good topwater or crankbait rod for both bass and inside saltwater fishing.
