Where to catch crawfish?

I'm originally from Houma, but now live in Walker. Buddy of mine and I would like to teach our boys what it's all about. Is there anywhere near that is public where we can go crawfishing? Anything around Hammond, maurepas, manchac, French settlement, etc? I just want to make sure I don't end up on private property. I know I can go to sherburn, but would like something closer. I have a boat, UTV, ATV, etc, so I'm ok with any type of access.
I'm not asking where your honey hole is, just want to be able to teach the younguns and show mama how the man puts food on the table!
Thanks!

I'm sure there's some escapees from Sammy's out back in the parking lot.

the area around the 310 bridge/spillway.
Also there is a road in St. Rose that I have scooped them up on the side of the road. A buddy lives out there and sometimes in big seasons they are all over.
