they're not there*

So what you're saying is they're going to try and catch him alone during Mardi Gras and jump him? Sounds not only classy, but also manly.

What were the Episcopal fans doing to warrant such a response from the kid?

Someone else's actions should not be a reason to lower your self respect. Did he expect fans from the opponent to cheer for him?

Are you seriously upset about this?

ETA: Wait, your kids don't go to the same school?

Probably

I'm the one that raises them with respect AT ALL TIMES or there are consequences. And I would expect the school I pay for to absolutely punish my kid for an action such as this...it's a simple game, he played well and no one will ever remember it because he disrespected the schools and made it about himself.

If you don't have a problem with what that kid did, you need an apology from your parents.
It must suck to see the world through your eyes. Constantly angry on someone else's behalf.

what he did was unsportsmanlike, he got punished for it after the fact and he can take his swag and sit in his house while his team mates are playing St Louis

And EHS can watch Lusher play in the state semis

Kid flipped off crowd, and opposing team retaliated with some in in-game hits. Should have ended there.

Well, this wasn't your kid...so move on, and give it a rest.

Lusher kid got suspended. Way to go. He got punished. All is right in the world. No one will remember this in a year.

People got flipped off...It upset them at the time. They went home. Probably slept fine, and will forget about it in 5 years.

But but but it was such a "trashy" and "classless" thing to do,...

(Had to make sure I used the most overused descriptions the OT loves to use these days when describing every person and situation.)

then feel free to use this as a teaching moment for your kids in the privacy of your home. but stop dragging up the actions of a 17 year old kid in a public forum.

i simply cannot fathom displaying this amount of public outrage over an immature act by a 17 year old kid when you have no dog in the fight. are you mad because his family is wealthy and chooses to send him to a public school?

stop trying. he is representing his school when he puts on the jersey. flicking off the crowd isn't representing his school well at all. he's getting what he deserves

I'd say his little action doesn't quite rise to the level of outrage being ginned up here. Pretty simple.

The irony, of course, is that I'd bet a dollar to donuts most of those who are OUTRAGED by him showing others two of his fingers have used the term "the Pussification of America" and will do so again...

You badass you.

Tell you what, when the kid comes on tv, don't let your kids watch this terrible role model.

And I would expect the school I pay for to absolutely punish my kid for an action such as this

And when it happens at your kids' school, then you can get all hot and bothered. Until then, quit poking your nose in other peoples' business.

it's a simple game, he played well and no one will ever remember it because he disrespected the schools and made it about himself.

Yeah. No body will remember his goals, only that he offended a crowd with a hand gesture.

You are an idiot and a terrible poster.

It WAS a simple game. You nosy busybody-type motherfrickers can't just let it be. Ya'll always need to go sticking your big fat heads in other people's business.

You're right, there are consequences. Karma is a motherfricker.
