It's a story involving a talking tree that has less of a vocabulary than hulk and a talking murderous racoon. How serious did people think it was going to be. It's going to be action packed with a bit of comical 1 liners, what's not to like?

I have never read a GoG comic book, but I know of the characters.

I am going to give this one a shot because I like the original feel to the characters and the setting/theme.

Who wouldn't be down for a space adventure with some quirky characters?

Casting Chris Pratt was genius. Perfect for what they seem to be going for. People really like that dude.

Zoe Saldana is smoking hot.

From what I've read, Bradley Cooper's interpretation of Rocket is like Joe Pesci's character from Goodfellas.

Of course all Vin Diesel has to say is "I am Groot"

Rocket, being the only one who can hear what Groot is actually saying, will no doubt get pissed off...a lot.

trailer was OK. looked like it could be fun or could be disjointed via silly

when i heard the descriptions of the series, i got a firefly-type feel, which was later confirmed in a post

i know nothing of this series

That's an old and tired joke, especially since they've cast a Wonder Woman in a movie.

i think thats a tad of a stretch - considering how they are gonna potray it. I equate it to wonder woman in name, but the spirit of it is way off the mark.

i keep watching the GotG trailer and it cracks me up.

Well from August 2013, sure. How is it tired?

1. Sure they have their WW, and a multiple movie deal, but nothing beyond SvB is known
2. They've already admitted to changing the character significantly. She may even be Kryptonian, so:

quote:

Wonder Woman's too confusing for a movie!"

Is quite valid, as they could be taking a completely different take on the character.

It's tired because it's trotted out every time that we see a new image or any news having to do with Rocket Raccoon. It'll be more stale when we hear Rocket speak in an upcoming trailer and someone trots it out again. And again, and again...

I never put together that she was also Uhura. I'm dumb.

Some members of the Nova Corps are in the movie. John C. Reilly and Glenn Close to name a few.

Yes.

I think that it's awesome that Andy left Pawnee (and Parks and Rec) to work with Lord Covington, who is played by Peter Serafinowicz (the other Nova Corps guy shown with Reilly).

but their "in development" basically means we're considering it if we can't get other projects (like Hulk and Black Panther) moving.

I really hope this helps them push through a planet hulk movie b/c it would seem to fit into that reality. I didnt read the PlanetHulk books but the animated movie they put out a few years ago was GREAT. Only thing is that it doesn't include established characters(like GOG) except for Hulk, but man it is a really cool premise!

I saw on another forum that it has been confirmed that black panther will make a cameo at the end of Avengers 2. Apparently some of the film is going to be filmed in South Africa which will represent Wakanda.

At least this is what I read.

Also John C. looks pretty funny!
