It's tired because it's trotted out every time that we see a new image or any news having to do with Rocket Raccoon. It'll be more stale when we hear Rocket speak in an upcoming trailer and someone trots it out again. And again, and again...

I saw it referenced for the first time in relation to this trailer (even though the tweet was dated Aug 2013). And have never seen it on this board. My apologies

Anyone hoping at some point we will get some Nova action?

Seeing as Nova, Rich Rider not he new one, is one of Marvel's most awesome characters that no one really knows of...Yes, yes i do.

I saw on another forum that it has been confirmed that black panther will make a cameo at the end of Avengers 2. Apparently some of the film is going to be filmed in South Africa which will represent Wakanda.

I believe Black Panther rights are with Fantastic Four/Fox, so that shouldn't be allowed. Unless they are in a grey area like Quicksilver.

1. Here are our characters
2. Here are some extreme examples of the tone we are taking

The tone was just not what I was expecting. I thought Thanos had something to do with these characters, though I could be way off on that. So I expected a more serious, epic tone akin to Man of Steel, by far my favorite comic book movie. I don't mind some humor sprinkled in, but this was nothing but barely funny jokes. It just feels like a comedy set in space, which is not what I was expecting or wanting. Hopefully a far more serious trailer will come out.

Eventually yes. What they are searching for has much to do with Thanos, though.

Oh God no. Keep the heavy for no reason, dark for darkness sake tone away from Marvel and from this more specifically.

You will be disappointed. This isn't your kind of film most likely. Marvel chose to go in a much different direction, one that is closer to the comic books. I'm sure there will be a "more serious" trailer, that divulges some plot details and starts to build on the idea that the universe is at risk, but nothing in the realm of super-serious DC. Not even close.

I'm not sure you can get a serious movie out of a property with a talking raccoon and a guy whose name consists of two dick jokes.

A slightly more serious trailer perhaps but I'm starting to think that if Man of Steel is more to your liking then GotG probably won't be your cup of tea.

I believe Black Panther

Although I could not find a definitive answer, it appears that not only does Marvel have his rights, but there is some development for a Black Panther film.

Not aimed at anyone specifically, but all superhero movies cannot be all things to all people. Man of Steel was too dour for my tastes, Avengers was a little too jokey. I'll still see the sequels for both because there were parts that I liked (and I'm hoping for a more serious Avengers and a less dark Superman).

This Firefly version of Guardians of the Galaxy is going to be way too silly for some and will hit all of the right notes for others.

I'm looking forward to it based on the cast (which is one of the most likable ensembles I've ever seen). If the writing holds up, we should be in business.

So many rumors floating around right now (some recently debunked for Winter Soldier), so I am skeptical, but this would make me giddy as hell. That's probably the next film I would want to see (and I'd rather it over Ant Man).

With Vibranium already in play, and a political tone of Captain America, it makes more than a ton of sense.

Oh and just go ahead and cast Eijofor now.

Is the tv channel Spike owned by Fox?

If not, that's more evidence that BP is owned by Marvel as his shortlived animated series aired there and not on Fox or FX.

Could Black Panther be a shared character, like Pietro and Wanda? (Since he was a Fantastic Four character that became an Avenger).

As good an assessment as any. I think DC misses more often than not, just given some of their choices. And the dour notes don't mesh well with the source material. I think they are finding their feet, but it's going to take another couple of films. It worked for Nolan's world because it was so far removed from the comic book. I don't think it worked in MoS, but it was a good film if you can look past the problems of tone.

I just don't want EVERYTHING to go down that path at all, the dour one. I think if the Avengers would have not been so successful, maybe more moderately successful, everyone would have started to copy Nolan and that would have been absolutely awful and all the "death of the genre" talk would have been well deserved.

We need some lighter fair. Maybe Avengers was a little too light, I can see that, but I doubt they keep that tone for AoU. It can't be because Ultron is a beast. An angry, truly villainous beast bent on pure destruction.

Just found this:

LINK

Also briefly mentions Loki solo film, would be nice to mix in Guardians with that honestly.

And Hiddelston has killed it as Loki.

I flexed my expert googling skills for a few minutes and all signs point to Marvel owns it.

It makes sense. I would say BP's ratio of Avengers/Fantastic Four activity is much more lopsided in the Avengers favor moreso than the Scarlet Witch/Quicksilver situation.

I don't think the issue was ever difference of time spent, but Origin point, which is FF.

I think SW/QS being mutants and children of Magneto is more of what creates the sharing of rights issue more than them first appearing in Xmen #4 or whatever.

Panther first appeared in FF but hell, he's been a decent part of every film corner of the Marvel Universe since with being married to Storm and his Avengers activity.

Only reason I'm going to see this is because it ties in with the other Marvel movies. If this were a stand alone film, I have no urge to see this movie.

2. They've already admitted to changing the character significantly. She may even be Kryptonian, so:

What the frick?

The more I hear about what Warner/DC is up to the worse it sounds.

Holy shite is it really that hard for them to comprehend anything past Batman and Superman?

Did they not see Thor and how a fantastical realm can be pulled off w/o being very confusing?

I'm pretty sure that rumor has been debunked.
