Disclaimer: This is not a complaint thread about LSU's recruiting class.

This last recruiting class was great, but it obviously shed some light on potential issues with LSU's presence/relationships/networking/perception in different areas of the state. Which areas of the state would still be considered "pro LSU" and the kids pretty much guaranteed to sign with LSU? What are the problem areas of the state and what is the issue (where does the hate come from)? What can be done to fix it?

In my opinion, Pro LSU parts of the state:
Arcadian
SW Louisiana
Baton Rouge and surrounding area
Pinevile and Alexandria

Problem areas:
Monroe and W. Monroe
Shreveport
Greater New Orleans area

I think you have some kids who want to go to LSU, and others who don't. No problem with certain "cities".

Take a look at who we actually WANTED and what has come out since then about them (Willis and Noil).

I really can't blame CamRob for leaving with the way Bama's OL has been lately. I still feel as if he has disrespected LSU and the state though.

It's people, not cities, same as on this board. Some think Miles is a good coach, some think he's a functional retard. Just depends on who the kid has talking to him, not a whole lot LSU can do but win games and get kids to the NFL.

From what I've heard from some guys and this is strictly my observation, LSU doesn't do a good job with the in state kids because they are too focused on the long distance recruiting.

They assume that the in state kids are there's to lose. If this year doesn't change that, then nothing will but as I understand it, so far for the 2015 class it is more of the same.

Old school coaches in nela/Monroe had that area pretty well locked in to LSU. The guys Saban had play for him from Ruston and Monroe area all came high school having played for some old, hardass coach. That philosophy easily transitioned over to college, the school everyone loved. Like mentioned, many of these old school coaches think miles is an idiot and still strongly favor Saban. Hell, many of these kids would die for their high school football coach. He's their leader not their friend. Honestly, I think it's j a matter of philosophy. Wait and see when Don Showels(sp?), bastrop coach, etc become a dismal part of the football program is ran. New coaches give miles a new opportunity to rebuild relationships.

Shreveport is a mixing pot, and w Texas people holding a strong presence in Shreveport, you'll always have your problems there. But it's j a matter of who's talking to the kids. Strong tx presence here (not j UT).

New Orleans...well it's j like any other big city. Melting pot, everybody wants to be different. Trendy.

Nola will never change, but as long as you can cherry pick Monroe and Shreveport, sweep south LA, we have nothing to worry about. Need to get it back that way

Media has really screwed LSU...

I still consider West Monroe an LSU stronghold. Cam Robinson, a transfer from Ouachita, was the exception, not the norm. However, Saban has some strong ties to the area that can't be discounted. A strong LSU recruiter though will win the day in most cases.

North LA is not as hardcore LSU as the Southern part of the state...when I went to school up there, it seems to be a different vibe towards LSU. I'm not saying it's bad but not the feel that you get in WBR, EBR, Ascension, Livingston etc etc...

Make no mistake- 80-90% of the entire state is pro LSU. Northern Louisiana has started to fall off slightly as of late and we lose a kid or 2 out of New Orleans every year, but I can assure you that LSU is without a doubt the most popular school in all both places. Hell I went up to visit my buddy at tech and walked on campus with him to check it out and saw 4 guys in LSU gear on Techs campus.

I think our biggest problem is that kids are now looking at their college decisions as a business move (which they should in my opinion) and Alabama has simply produced more 1st round talent then anyother other school and they simply win. Saban is able to realistically pitch this- If you come here you will go head to head against the best players in the country on a daily basis in practice, you get to play in the best conference in all of college football, while you're here we will win a national title and if work your butt off Ill turn you into a 1st rounder.
