Who knew Mississippi is a protectorate of Uganda?
I will throw out Attila the Hun. The nickname "Scourge of God" is strong, especially when it is not a made up rasslin deal.

Depending on criteria, the problem with saying someone like Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, or really most huge historical figures like that is that it wasn't necessarily their personal fighting prowess that made them successful. They were great military leaders for their time and tactics for sure. They were also incredibly ambitious.
The truth is that there are probably at least thousands of unknown warriors whose untold stories would equally qualify them for title of "most badass."
But to have a bit of fun I'll throw Lu Bu into the conversation. Most of what I've heard about him is from The Romance of the Three Kingdoms which is pretty much historical fiction. While the account should probably be taken with a pretty hefty amount of sodium (like a lot of history anyway), he was just a bad arse character, and he was actually based on a real person.

Audie Murphy....most decorated war hero of our lifetime. Just a fricking badass who had no fear. Single handedly defeated a army by himself.

Yeah, I spent far too many hours playing those games growing up. Even on easy difficulty he could kick the crap out of you.
Some of the things rumored about him were just crazy. Like taking on Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, and Liu Bei, three accomplished warriors in their own right, single handed.

It sure is hard to argue against Alexander the Great. He was so badass, he conquered everything from Greece to India while being gay. That's gotta count for something. That would be like going on a hunger strike while getting blitzed on weed every day.
