I knew Josh at LSU because we shared a mutual friend. His go to pick up line was to tell chicks he was Petes son which doesn't really work on 18-21 year olds that didn't know your dad. He always acted like he was a badass and I never cared for him. The fact that he still hasn't done shite with his life a decade later says how lazy he is.

Sure we only hear one side of the truth about Brady's treatment of Josh. But that 11minute highlight video of Pete...WOW...that alone was worth opening the post. He was Magic before Magic Johnson withe the basketball.

I worked in the athletic department at that time. I saw a lot of behind the scense with the basketball team and I am no Brady apologist. However, nothing that Brady did to Josh Maravich was out of line. Every coach admonishes his scholarship player when they get beat by walkons.

Josh was a strange guy and we'll just leave it at that.

As a kid I idolized Pistol Pete as I'm sure many other young Louisiana basketball players did. Sucks that he was taken from this world too soon, and sucks that his sons lived with those burdens. If his son was slacking during practice at LSU, then good, he didn't deserve playing time. But Brady was a shite coach, regardless of this story.

I was around the basketball program behind the scenes when Josh was a senior.

To be fair, the article clearly says that by his senior year he had basically given up because he was sick and tired of Brady's constant harassment and unfair treatment. So it makes sense that in his senior year he seemed lazy to you. I'm not saying he was a saint his first 3 years but if you were only around his senior year then you don't really know the inside story.

Eta: Jaeson looks way older than 34 in that last picture in that article. He looks bad

There was probably some fault on both sides of the basketball and certainly some emotional issues with the boys understandably. It's tough for any child to lose a parent and especially at an age at which you don't really have clear memories. Top that off with the parent having been famous and all the hoopla that goes with that. You're the child and didn't know him, but everyone else did. While it's nice for the public to remember your parent, the stress of it all must be something else do deal with as a kid. The boy is entitled to his point of view. You don't have to agree with it, obviously, but remember you haven't walked in his shoes unless Pistol Pete was your Dad.

The video is awesome.

Someone needs to send this to Brady. I don't think he has ever gotten this much support from Tiger fans. It's a great read and I idolized the Pistol. Sad story all the way around.

I can't imagine a bigger piece of crap than Brady. I've never been able to even look at the guy without wanting to punch him in the face.

Brady chose to treat them both like shite because of their name. He felt he was so much more knowledgeable about the game than maybe things learned at home when they were kids and their dad had turned his life around from the pit it had been in for a while. Brady deserves a job in the likes of being a janitor in an arena in order to get similar treatment as he gave.

You're right, but I believe his senior season was his third season? I could be wrong but even the article said he had another year left. Regardless I wasn't around for 2 of the years. However, Josh acted like he deserved to play or get credit cuz his dad was a baller. I'm sorry, but that doesn't make Brady a bad person. He treated him literally no differently than other players, even Big Baby or D-Mitch or Tack.

Lester, he did admit he didn't come to practice, but I'm saying he wasn't even in the arena. The team practiced in the dungeon most the time, the dude wasn't down there shooting. He just basically quit, showed up for senior night, and then bitched about not playing.

I was real good friends with 3 guys from Kinder one and they were all friends with Josh. I think his mom re-married a guy from Kinder. Anyways i hung out with him a lot throughout college and he was a nice guy when he wasnt drinking but when he did Jesus he was tough to be around. I mean a flaming a-hole. I will have to agree always gave off that sense of entitlement.

What a piece of shite!!!!!

I had the chance to whip his arse one night at a restaurant in BR but the coward backed down. I'm still sorry I didn't just hit him for pure principal sake.

Maybe he got mouthy when Jaeson refused to shake his hand.
