quote:Yes, but most of the O-line (Collins!) is returning with a new O-line coach, and something about getting the #1 running back and wide receiver (and a national receiving record holder on the other side) with a young, mobile pro-style QB who's shown signs of greatness and toughed through a very difficult bowl game win against one of the nation's best defenses really helps my confidence. We'll be fine.
I think people are seriously underestimating how bad this offense might be in 2014. LSU loses all of it's production to graduation/draft.

your prediction will go about as well as your A&M prediction last season

Show me your final score prediction.
LSU was 10-3 in 2013 and 2012. Tell me why 2014 will be better. Don't waste your time if your response is freshmen.

It isn't like we have not won 10-11 games without much of an offense before. That said, although not Jeremy Hill, Terrance Magee and Kenny Hilliard are perfectly serviceable running backs behind an o-line as good as we should have next year (not to mention LF7). We should be perfectly capable of running the football. As for replacing the rest of our skill positions, if you want to replace a starting qb, having 4 highly recruited options on campus for the spring is a pretty decent way to go about it. Furthermore, we have recruited allot of good wr talent over the years so it doesn't seem completely out of the realm of possibilities that a couple will emerge.

All good points. I predicted 3 losses. Not a losing season.

I think it depends more on the defense. If a couple of DT's on the roster mature, it could be a special unit and as long as the offense isn't terrible and a turnover machine, fewer than 3 losses is more than possible.

coker is just as proven a qb as jennings, yet bama is ahead of auburn and oregon

O-line will be solid and have better coaching.
Besides Mett last year, QB play should be as good or better than the 5 years before.
TE's will be solid and has good depth. From what I am told, Desean Smith has improved his blocking and should be able to have a chance at making an impact next season.
RB's will be fine. I know you said no freshman but you cannot deny LF will be ready to go game 1. Magee & Hilliard can also handle the load.
WR's could be a problem but this is not the old offense of a few years ago where we try and sub 2-3 receivers every play. Cam will find the best 2 and that is who we will rely on. There are many great athletes to choose from and I think he will find them. There is plenty of talent to build depth with.
Just my 2 cents. Not saying we will be as good as this past year but will be plenty good enough to get to 10-12 wins this year.

LSU is way too low. 7 at worst, but I would put them at 5

Time after time, LSU gets no respect.

The Wisconsin game is huge, man we are going to be young on O (which may not be a bad thing).

Our offense will be solid and defense returns to glory. 10 wins is our floor, but we could very well win it all this year. 2015 I think we should be the favorites (but we won't be)

I have no problem with LSU being at #13. We'll most likely be lower than that in the first August poll, I think about #15.
But, UGA at #8?? huh? I guess the SECE is going to be so easy that even a Mark Richt coached UGA team can finish in the top 10!
I would also rank Auburn higher than alabama. And Mizzou needs to be top 15, imo.

ESPN Way Too Early Top 25
Bama is in the top 5 for the next decade as an automatic qualifier. They don't have to do anything, just exist.
Hell their Tuscaloosa High and 'Shama grad SEC Scheduling Chief will make sure of that with fear-inducing opponents like Southwestern Delaware Teacher's College, Middle Rhode Island A&T, Central Montana Polytech, and the usual SEC standbys Tennessee, Kentucky, and Vandy.

This list is a joke
Look at the write up. Bama signs #1 class, replaced talent, good for a #2 ranking.
LSU signs #2 class, replaced talent, goof for a #13 ranking.
