The powers that be in Omaha got rid of the "ball park" concept and went with a copy of a MLB stadium.

Same EXACT dimensions as Rosenblatt. The talking heads say the difference is that it is in town and does not get the wind blowing out. Ball does not carry like the old park.

Rosenblatt was up on a the hill and TD Ameritrade is down by the river in a hole. TD was also built on a different axis, I think rotated almost 180 degrees (could be less )Rosenblatt the wind blew out whereas TD it blows in. Add in the higher humidity near the river and the ball dies in the outfield. Not a hitter friendly park irrespective of the dimensions.

Won't argue we seemed to swing for the fences last year. I don't think we need to resort to small ball. Our best hitters went ice cold in Omaha. Ground outs to DP's and lazy fly balls. If we can swing level, stay with singles and hits to the gap and develop a better steal game (to utilize our improved speed) we can compete w/o that ugly shite that UCLA brought. What got us to Omaha would have worked but we didn't bring it to the CWS.

if you like 1 or 2 run games, you'll love it.
I hate it, I like offense.

Those where not lazy fly balls. Any other park and LSU wins it all. They where killing the ball only to watch em drop at the fence. Nobody hit any homeruns in that tournement

But it wasn't any other park. The pitchers lobbed the ball down the middle and we launched balls that looked good but died before the fence. Katz had the wind blowing out for his HR (the only time it blew out while we were there). The fielders had it easy, play in to lessen the gap and let the field and the wind kill fly balls.

Swing for the fences at TD = 2-n-Q
