did you forget RP was the key reason for the 2008 shitty season?

He did get plenty of chances. His head was too big and he wanted to be handed the job instead of grinding like Flynn did. If he had flynns work ethic he would be starting in the nfl

The 2008 quarterback disaster we had should have been mentioned in the article. If RP hadn't blown his chances he most definitely would have been the starter, which could have in turn allowed him to be drafted.

This is exactly right. It was so disappointing coming off the national championship in 2007. He could have punched his ticket. Instead, he set us back a couple years. 2008 and 2009 were big disappointments because due in large part to struggles at quarterback. He's got no one to blame but himself.

It's a goddam shame LSU fans do this to their own.

He isnt one of our own, he was kicked off the team and created the 08,09 and 10 seasons.

He may have been a "nice guy" but at some point you have to take some responsibility. No one is in the "wrong place" that often without it being something they did. I have ZERO sympathy for the guy if he continues to deflect blame on other people. Be a grown man and deal with your own shite.

Sherman material there.

I tutored RP and he was no thug. Actually very smart. Just very immature. But Les doesn't come up smelling sweet in that article either.

He's still working, got his degree, putting in his time. Doesn't seem like he's asking for a handout, just a chance.

Which is great for him and his family. But dont tell me I am being harsh when he keeps blaming his troubled past on other people and claiming he just kept on being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Its like someone whose been divorced 5 times, at some point you have to ask "Is it me?"

Best of luck to Ryan. Tiger fans would love to cheer for you on Sundays.

For all the challenges and perceived slights, you're the designated QB and leader of the defending national champion and you picked a very poor time to 'act out.'

RP and Honey Badger were both players with great ability and chose to make knuckle head mistakes. HB is in the NFL because someone took a flyer on him and he seems to have his mind on straight now. RP had all the chances in the world but just didn't have the drive to live up to his potential. In both of these situations I applaud Miles for putting the team first and not letting things get out of hand.

Seems like he's been humbled and learned from his mistakes

I'm sorry, but I took this article as showing RP as the opposite of him being humbled and instead blaming his circumstances for his own lack of self-control.

If the RP story included a plot line that consisted of him getting screwed out of a starting job because of favoritism, then the whole "He should have gone to Texas" line would carry some weight. What did Jimbo say about Jameis W. on Mike and Mike, "he won the leadership role as a scout team QB". RP was pissed because he was on the scout team and got redshirted. Jimbo was there and recruited RP; he wanted RP to be the guy. I bet if you had Jimbo's view in this article you'd get a good viewpoint between a QB that "gets it" and one that doesn't.

Well, that's the tone of the writer more than RP...who admits he make mistakes. Also it's his coach a Jacksonville St who points out that he would have been better off at TX, which is probably true--but who really knows.

That whole article basically reads like all of Perrilloux's problems were that Miles lied to him and that he should have gone to Texas. Which is interesting since Texas fans are now glad he didn't go to Texas.

i never been one to rag on former players but we gave this dude an opportunity of a life time he fricking blew it. He isnt going anywhere because he is an immature moron. He was given probably over a dozen chances here at LSU. we only heard about a few of them, fake ids, missed meeting, fights at varisty, racial slurs slung at the worker at kona grill, the whole counterfeit money ring people in his family were involved in. frick this dude.

RP was going to be handed the keys to the program after Jamarcus went pro. He screwed it up with his stupidity and set the program back.

This, RP screwed up his life, no one else. I wish him redemption but screw his excuses. He left LSU's QB situation in shambles and it took years to recover...

Hasn't changed a bit. Someone else's fault.

I expected a better story about a grown up man admitting the mistakes of his youth. Instead its garbage.

I personally witnessed Perilloux acting like a clown and cursing at an LSU professor outside of Lockett. Miles bent over backward for that kid and ultimately dismissed him when the incidents got more serious.

It's years later and nothing has changed in that thick skull. He could have been a great one but it's no one's fault but his own.

I was pulling for him with the Giants. Now I say he can go frick himself.
