20 gauge Over & Unders - Recommendations?

After spending two days shooting a Browning Citori on a recent upland bird hunt I've got this itch to go buy one. But $2200 is pretty steep. Anyone got any recommendations on some of the others out there?
Franchi Instinct?
Berretta Silver Pigeon?
Winchester 101?
Savage 512?
Ruger Red?
Stoeger Condor?
I am not looking for something super fancy, just a nice shooting O/U.
wick...you out there? Pretty sure you're an O/U guy.

The Beretta fits me better. Look for a used one.

Mossberg Silver Reserve II is a reasonably priced O/U 20 ga.
I have one for quail and pheasant and it does the trick. It does have extractor barrels so you have to manually take out the used shells, but that actually works in my favor because the owners prefer to not have used shells in their fields. Good dove shooting gun too.

I like the sxs guns better than the over unders. Used is a great option, good quality guns are made to last generations, no need to buy new. What length barrels were you shooting? 28" is standard but longer barrels tend to sell for a premium on the used market. A well balanced 20 with 30" barrels is very nice...

DC – find one that fits you (but since its O/U – you may want to modify stock/pad to improve fit). But in no particular order mine would be Beretta, Browning Citori (u don’t have it on ur list) or Winchester 101 (not a 1001 – they were recalled as they had an issue w/ receiver failing ….)
I have a beretta but the other 2 are just as good. Rugers and savages are OK but they are not the 1st three I mentioned. Browning/win have easier access to aftermarket chokes. Find a used one in good shape and you will be very happy

The Ruger red labels just started back production this year and only in 12 currently. The 28 gauge was the gem of the Ruger line...

In my experience ruger fit and quality is meh, beretta win or browning are far superior
They shot well but the wood was just ok, finish meh, gunsmithing etc was just ok – if you could get a ruger at good price ( a padnah got a 12 ga red label essentially NIB for $500) - I would buy it but it would be my 2nd choice.

I agree, plenty of other good names out there in quality o/u shotguns. They just won't be know by those that have not done their research...

u r right there - the eyetalians and spanish make some purty guns. Even the turks are not too bad

You can get the 725 Field for under 2K all day every day.
Of the others I would say the Berretta, then the Ruger would be my choices.

Cabelas is about the best place in BR to hold guns. Find what you like and then shop online. I come across decent deals from time to time and post them.

28" barrel is my preference. I should look used by buying used in CA is a sumanabitch.
Anyone got any words about the Franchi guns?

My buddy has a Franchi and it is a nice gun, and shoots good too. It felt a bit bulkier to me than my Browning, but not a bad gun at all for the price.

Bought the old man a CZ mallard 12ga a little while back. It's no citori, but it points and shoots well and seems well built. Think I walked out the door $750 later. They make a similar 20ga.

They're worth looking at. His is pretty nice and I think it's the bottom of the barrel model.

They are a decent gun but not the same level as a Berreta or Browning. Check out gunbroker, and perhaps if memory serves guns international.
