Who all else played it? I have played through it multiple times and even with the graphics and etc i can still play it and never get bored.. One game i wish they would remake. To me its the best game Rpg game of its time and possibly all time.Anyone else who would buy the remake?

Here comes FF7 hate. I would buy a remake. Yesterday.

I played it. It was awesome. Would not play it again, but that is just me. For some reason I can't replay a game in which I have played through the story already.

Been waiting since FF9 (terrible). I'd buy a PS4 just for a FF7 remake.

Was a lot of fun at the time. I'm not sure how much I would enjoy a replay now, especially considering all the time I put into it to kill the Ruby and Emerald Weapons and get Knights of the Round. Sooo many Chocobo races.
However, I would probably play a remake with updated graphics just for nostalgia's sake.

FF9 is probably the best in the series

One of the best things to happen to the Final Fantasy Series...
And one of the worst. It was a great game that threw Square for a bit of a loop.

I have to agree. Although I gotta say I'd be pissed if they changed anything besides the graphics. The game was damn perfect. Except maybe give me a few more side missions/random fun shite to do.

Agree 100% nothing seemed to be up to par after it. While I enjoyed FF8-10 it wasn't the same.

I'm partial to 6, but 7 was just so cinematic (the story suffered a bit too). The visuals: Almost awe-inspiring at the time. The issue with Square was that, other than 11 and 14, they just tried to remake 7 over and over again, particularly with 12, and 13 and X-2.
And while many were good (particularly 8, 9 and 10), they were just derivative and the stories were often more basic than 7, and that was tough to do.

Agreed.
To this day, nothing that Square has come out with has topped FFVI or Chrono Trigger, at least as far as I'm concerned.

8-10 were all better. I even liked 12 more. 12 grows on me the more I play it. Didn't care for the story but all the changes they made out weighed it.

If Square could have taken the narrative intricacies and characters of VI, mashed with the presentation and epicness of VII and the battles of something like Crono Trigger, that would have been solid gold. I think, honestly, that's what they tried to do in the later FF years, but the whole "one world," presentation was never interesting.

VII's mass appeal has a lot to do with the new "non-medieval" and more urban feel for a FF game. It was truly a different looking game than previous entries and it had a much-broader audience.
The graphical leap from SNES gen to PS gen is also a huge selling point.
It came out at the peak of Squaresoft as far as brand appeal and marketing as well.

And I liked that take on it (Final Fantasy VI came close to the Urban feel, it was very much rooted in a pseudo-steampunk world), but they just never let it go outside of 9. And everything had to be some "alternate modernity," or something close to it.
Plus, I kind of want a Final Fantasy IV reboot with new visuals more than even 6. I think that world, the moon, and the rest would be a lot of fun.

Concur - with 6 we saw signs of transition from purely medieval themes, but the graphic technology limitations at the time couldn't really display the theme as powerfully. FF7 seemed open the floodgates and was a great launching point to expand the genre (Xenogears and such followed shortly thereafter).
Speaking of remakes, I don't see how/why SquareEnix wouldn't want to modernize a lot of the past classics. It's guaranteed gold. I want to be a purist and all, but how could anyone turn down a classic reboots like FF6 or Trigger?

Square said recently that a FF7 remake was not going to happen. Unless, one of the new final fantasies can outsell 7, which I don't see happening any time soon. Square is probably terrified of doing a remake, knowing that if they frick it up it will probably be the end of the company. I for one would like a remake of IV (III) or Chrono Trigger before 7.
