Incognito looks like he genuinely cares about Martin in those texts, actually. He's just a gigantic bro.
THIS.

the media SMEARED incognito... holy shite
this is ridiculous

No, he strikes me as the stereotypical "O'Doyle rules!" type of bully in these texts.
But I'm still surprised that a 6'7", 320 pound football player can be intimidated by another person. It's not like Incognito was bullying a punter or kicker.
Did you read his text around the time Martin left the team? He seemed genuinely concerned about martin.

i remember they broke a story saying Martin would tell Incognito back that he would kill his entire family.... it is a fricking meme of a dog

Yeah, it's fricked up (but par for the course) the way some of the media (not all) wrote and forced the narrative on this one at Incognito's expense. Hell, they got me. It was easy to believe with Incognito's rep and the bullshite perception of Martin that was painted.

The last 3 pages are interesting. Seemed like Incognito viewed himself as Martin's friend, despite the banter, while Martin might not have viewed him as a friend, in return.
Or Martin capitulated to his agent's desire to smear Incognito so Martin could keep most of his market value in the NFL.
Could have been a mixture of both.

Remember when the media was all like "OMG Cognito texted Martin saying he will 'murder his whole fricking family'"

i bought it. That shite was so one sided. I feel so fricking dumb now

Or he felt like a huge idiot for checking himself into a mental hospital. As in he felt like people would think he was crazy.
So in order to save his own arse, he made up this story to place himself as the victim.
I don't know if people truly realize how fricked up what he did was.
This wasn't just like a one-time story deal. Incognito got bashed in the media for weeks. Ruined his career.

I can remember the people even remotely defending incog. On here getting blasted.
Posted on 2/3/14 at 10:26 pm to GoldenBoy
This could have/did destroyed Incognito's career. What a joke.

Now it's clear why the Dolphin players were defending Incognito when this story first broke

What is a shame is nobody will call out Espn for any of this, and they will continue to brainwash people. What is scary is if a sports show does this, news stations are also doing this and brainwashing people on important issues

Anyone else find it funny that no one (to my knowledge) other than Deadspin/Big Lead is reporting how these text messages completely contradict Martin's story?
It's all about clicks and ratings. Media created the narrative and they aren't going to admit they rushed judgment now.
Also, timing is perfect. Text messages come out around Super Bowl time. No one really notices except a few message boards

the media is so god awful.
all that crap on ESPN and the time they spent on it. They hammered this into the ground as usual.
initially, they were all over Incognito.
something definitely didn't add up from the get to me....
sounds like Martin is the one with real issues while Incognito's past just ended up screwing him over even though it appears he didn't do anything wrong here.

guilty until proven innocent.
Because of Incognito's past, everyone just assumed he was a bully and caused all these problems.
Yeah, the dude is a meathead, but the media definitely took his past and turned it into a free for all
