Anyone practice intermittent fasting?

I began several months ago. I don't eat for 24 hour intervals two days a week. I'll have a cup of coffee and nothing else. Any other OTers abstain from eating? What are your patterns like?

what are you trying to accomplish by doing this?

Why do you do this? To lose weight?

intermittent fasting is more along the lines of eating for 4 hours and fasting for 20.
or eating all food in a 8 hour period and fasting for 16.
not going entire days without food...

Weight remains stable. I'm fit and of a normal weight. Basically do it to exercise discipline and because calorie restriction has been shown to increase longevity.

Uh..No..when you do eat the body will tend to want to store more fat to make up for your fasting periods... ... you may lose some weight , but become skinnyfat

If you are trying to lose weight
You will lose more weight by eating 6-8 small meals every day and.......
getting off your lazy arse and working out
To quote Will Smith when asked what he ate to get in perfect physical shape for "I Am Legend":
"You can eat whatever you want when you run 5 miles everyday.."
Sounds like you're in the beginning stages of anorexia

I've done it for roughly a year and a half and love it. Typically start eating in the late afternoon and have my last meal right before bed.

When I say meal I mean a granola bar or some celery.
Tiny meals throughout the day are aproven weight loss method. It keeps your metabolism working all day instead of in small intervals 2-3 times a day.
ETA: and you conveniently left out the most important line in your quote

Not even close to anorexic. I'm athletically built. The small, frequent meal plan has been shown to elevate blood glucose and insulin resistance (both associated with weight gain) compared to infrequent large meals......in the 1990's.

Saw a documentary about an Australian bloke who did a veggie and fruit juice fast for 60 days. It was interesting (kind of).

I have no problem with it if that's what you want to do. I don't believe in it. I know that I could not go 20 hours without eating. The human body isn't set up to go long periods of time without nourishment.

not saying you are, saying starving yourself is a key factor associated with anorexia.
Once the ball starts rolling...
I agree small meals, large meals, blue meals, green meals won't make you lose weight. Working out/exercising will.
