Good points
Hypothetically... What if in college Peterson played on a team whose offense ranked higher than the bottom 100's , who along with being statistically horrendous they were quarterbacked by guys who were historically interception prone or just down right pitiful at creating any sort of resemblance of an upper level SEC offense. Some of his biggest plays were overshadowed by ineptitude by his offensive teammates and coaches. Would his college career be more impressive at first glance if he played on an team with mediocre to average QB play?
In the NFL he has played with future Hall of fame QB's Kevin Kolb, John Skelton, Brian Hoyer Ryan Lindley and Carson Palmer.
I would just like to see how much more he would be praised and honored if he played on teams with offenses who could play at average to above average levels.

He's one of the best athlete's in the NFL. People act like corners can come in the NFL and dominate right off the bat. People like this are at up with the fricking dumb. He will be elite in the next few years. It is tough to play DB in the NFL,especially with the shite rules of today. Give him some time. God almighty. Go back to worrying about your all flash and absolutely no substance Oregon teams.

Such a basic criteria from a fan of a program with no titles.

Been said, but he's an ambassador for LSU and was wildly popular with the fanbase during his career here. He's an all-time great Tiger and one of the best players I've seen in Death Valley. I'll support him forever for all that.
Plus, he's already one of THE premier corners in the game and still so young. He and Tyrann are gonna wreak havoc in that secondary for years to come. Take that to the bank

If you want to say he's not an elite NFL DB yet fine, but to say he wasn't great in college is ludicrous...
He was hands down the best DB in college his junior year, he essentially locked down a whole side of the field for LSU. Nobody ever threw the ball at him, and when they did (LOL Miss st), it was usually intercepted

PP21 could soon be the highest paid defensive player in the league, and deserving of every penny. Him and Fitz are the face of the franchise right now.

He was a total stud in college.
Don't know why you're reaching to make a point there.
I think your point about a national title is relevant in that - most CFB fans revere players who won a title for their school - and with other players they move on as the players move on to the Pros...
On this point - don't really get the CFB fan - going on and on and on about PP7 - he's gone...move on. He ain't at LSU anymore.
And as for the massive love...I sort of don't get it either from LSU fan.
He's not Peyton Manning. He's a CB. In a league with a lot of good CBs.
He's a great athlete - really great athlete and a freak of nature.
But why LSU fans act like he is Reggie Bush or Vince Young or Tebow or Cam or...guys brought titles to their school and were Heisman revered...is beyond me.
LSU fans act like PP7 is their modern day Billy Cannon. You can't say shite about him. It's beyond weird. But - I guess - you latch onto - whatever you have been offered...and no Heisman winners, etc and nothing to show on offese...he's their best offering.

I think this question deserves its own thread:
What's up with all the Peterson love? Of all LSU players, I think he is loved the most by the LSU crowd. If anyone ever says anything bad about him, there is ALWAYS a few people to come to PP7's defense.
He never won a title at LSU. He's been a good CB but not great like many thought. Same for college. He had all the tools. I don't get it.
This is stupid. As an outsider, the answer to your question is pretty obvious. The guy was a fantastic LSU Tiger and has represented the university well. He was a high pick in the draft and is now a top 3 CB in the NFL, making the Pro Bowl every year he's been in the league. You should always stick up for your alumni if they represent the university well. There's absolutely no reason for LSU fans to not love him.
