Neighbor parking on the road blocking my driveway!

It's not actually my neighbor, but his stepsons girlfriend.
She has been asked several times by my neighbor not to park there. I've only seen her once, so I haven't spoken to her myself. The last time it happened, she was told that the next time she would be towed.
It's 2 weeks later and I go to take the trash out and there she is again, partially blocking my driveway. If I would have taken the trash out yesterday evening, I likely would have hit her backing out this morning. It's not well lit and my truck stays on that side of the garage.
I left her a note saying she will be towed next time and if I hit her, she is responsible for the damages.
The question is, can I actually get her towed? If I hit her, who is responsible for the damages? Do I have a leg to stand on or was I full of shite? Am I even right in being pissed or should I let it go?

I'm much more interested in how you managed to post that retarded non-link.

No she ain't, you'd be more at fault than she would. You still will have hit a parked car.

But what if she's parked illegally? As in facing the wrong way in the street?

If she's blocking your drive way, have her towed- simple as that!

Is she fricking retarded? Who blocks a driveway? I'm assuming you live in some kind of subdivision.

Is she parked "illegally" because she's facing the wrong way?
Imagine her car was on the exact same spot, facing the right way, and you hit it. It's still parked and taking up the same space. Why does the direction it's facing matter?

You are responsible and you can't get her towed

Stop threatening to have her towed and just call the cops; they'll either have her towed or give her a ticket for parking illegally.

If his driveway is blocked and can't get in or out then yes he can have her towed.

BTW Dave, I agree it's frustrating as a mofo.

I hope so, but I doubt it

I'd go knock on the neighbors door when I was ready to leave for work, even if it were at 5 am. They won't like having to get up to tell her to move.

yes. She is not allowed to block the driveway. Cops can ticket her too in most jurisdictions.
