Wanted to get the view of any of the UT, UGA, and LSU fans here...
Obviously I am comparing him to Grimes as it was nice to actually have a real OL coach after a long time of nonsense...

Loved him at LSU. Had all Americans every year he was there.

Searels played OL for Neil Calloway and Pat Dye at auburn in the 80s... which is pretty odd when you realize how soft his OLs were at UGA and TX.

But to be fair to searels, friend hasn't done much better (probably worse). It's a culture thing there.

His OL in UGA was very mediocre to bad. Maybe he just didn't fit in at UGA. Who knows.. he was a good coach in other places.

They run different schemes and while Friend's hasn't been great it's been better than Sealer's.

I like Searels but he's either regressing or his effectiveness at LSU had more to do with the other staff than him. He seems to be able to identify talent but his lines have only been good at LSU. Maybe its the kids he was getting. I don't know wha ts has happened.

Don't play anyone good early. I always thought his lines started slow before jelling regardless of experience.

Latest update:
Kyle Bailey ?@TheClubhouseKB · 9m
Sources: 3 finalists for #Hokies OL coaching vacancy are Stacy Searels, Frank Verducci, and Bob Bostad.
Surprised at the Verducci name...but keep hearing that Stacy is in the lead
I think my preference would be Bostad...

He had nothing to work with at Texas and he did well with that. Recruited very well.

Yeah, that would be a grand slam if you guys got him.

I wonder if we just didn't want to wait on Bostad or what, he matched the criteria

Did he have Texas ties? I think that was one of the priorities with this hire and can't remember if he did.

Bob Bostad
Would easily be the best OL coaching hire by any team this off-season.
