How often can you have an offensive coordinator as a position coach?

I have a keyboard so I know football.

Well Henry was also an OC at McNeese too,so apparently pretty easily.

Because people see us not throwing to TEs and somehow think it's because we have an inferior TE coach

While I have no idea how good of a TE coach he is, I don't think having a job that you got fired from is a plus. He was a high school passing game coordinator when LSU hired him, that hardly makes him sound overqualified for the job.

I have never mentioned wanting to get rid of him, I just don't really think his history as on OC is a good reason not to. I want Miles to make the best decision to win games, how that effects Ensminger's job doesn't really matter to me.

Cam Cameron agrees.

Sounds like most Rantards wanting a certain new OL coach.

Keep in mind Ensminger is the only one on the staff who knows when to call a timeout.

His best skills could be used in an administrator role just as easily as they could as a TE coach.
And that opening could be filled by an ace recruiter

It's same know it alls that would say something along the lines that our equip manager and two grad students need to go.

People should realize when they have no fricking clue what they are talking about.

Know what?

From what ive seem/read/heard, his best attributes are talent evaluation and recruiting both of which could be accomplished in a different role

I admit I don't know enough to identify how good of a TE coach he is. The fact that you think his OC job 15 years ago (which he got fired from) proves he should keep his position means you know jack shite about it.

The guy played the game and has been an OC/position coach on and off for 30 years. He can certainly coach our freaking TE's which we hardly use anyway. The only reason to replace him is if you think you can get a solid coach with exceptional recruiting skills in his place. At the end of the day, if that's what the HC thinks he needs to do, its fine with me. Its fine with me if he stays too.

We pay a guy $4,000,000 a year to make decisions like that. As a fan, who the hell has time to nit pick over the freaking TE's coach?

Many remember him as the quarterback who followed Bert Jones rather ineffectively, while the more talented David Woodley rode the bench largely due to Charlie Mac's preference for Baton Rouge boys. That grudge plus his ineffective recruiting leads many tards to dislike him.

Btw the talk of replacing him is not really malcontent from me, its just rumors that he will be moved to an administrative role that are all over the place

I havent seen too many "Fire Ensminger" discussions, just talk of replacements if the rumors are true

No one really knows what he does -- our tight ends haven't done much of anything under him and the administrative stuff he probably does that's probably the reason why he's kept around isn't something that the fans can see. So they see him ostensibly just taking up space and want him replaced.

I think most of the posting on here, though, is just wondering if rumors of him being replaced are true.
