Let me see if I understand this right.....

You purchase the Square App.... then set a "price". Swipe your card. Then the fund from your card are deposited into the bank. From there you then pay off the card?

is it as simple as that?

Also, someone teach me about Bluebird.

From what I gather it looks like I need to:
1.Set up a Bluebird account.
2. Find a reloadable Vanilla Card and deposit money on it at the register.
3. Then transfer the funds from the vanilla card onto my bluebird account.
4. Use my bluebird account to may off my credit card bill?

??? is this sorta close to what is going on?

The Square app is free. They send you a card reader/swiper gadget in the mail for free, which you don't even need. You can just type in the credit card # and info in the app.

That is correct. The $1k was deposited in my bank account and I have a $1k charge on my credit card for a Square expense.

I may try it again with another bank account since you get $1k in free swipes for every bank account you sign up with.

I tried to find an answer in 100 or so pages before I gave up, so sorry if this has already been discussed.

I just started a new business. I have pretty much 0 business credit, but very good personal credit. I'm trying to find a business credit card that will give rewards or cash back (I pay my balance in full every month).

I frequently shop at Home Depot, Lowes, Builders Supply stores, etc.

I'd prob put around 5k/month on the card (Or whatever my credit limit allows me).

If anybody has a suggestion for me on a specific card, I'd very much appreciate it.

Thanks.

"Business credit" doesn't matter. I have a Chase Ink Plus with a 10k limit with zero business revenue and no tax ID number.

This manufactured spending thing is mind blowing... I have spent the last three hours reading different forums and I'm more confused than before!!

I wish someone would post a guide/walk through on how to do this for 2015.

After reading through different forums it appears somethings don't work now that used to.

Im feeling the itch for a new card... Anything good out there right now?

I mainly use my CSP and have a frick ton of points on it currently, but looking at something I can turn and burn.

I see the SW Airlines card has 50k miles and $100 statement credit with $2500 spent in the first 3 months.

Anything along those lines out there I am unaware of?

The Chase MileagePlus Explorer Card currently has a 50k mile signup bonus for $3k spend. United Airlines.

Nothing in particular... Been traveling a shite ton for work and am building up SW points pretty quickly. Going to try to take some personal trips over the next year. Prob Vegas, Chicago, and I'd like to get to London in the near future.

I also have about 120k pts on CSP I haven't used.

I'm just getting pts greedy and want more

When do annual fees normally show up? I was gearing up to cancel my Ink Bold when I noticed that I'm several weeks past my anniversary and I still haven't been charged. Gave me pause wondering whether the fact that they no longer offer the card might have somehow removed the fee.

Should be on the statement that includes the anniversary date.

btw, you can use points to pay the annual fee if you'd like... At least thats how it is with the CSP.

Also, you have up to 60 days after your anniversary to downgrade to avoid the fee

This part I knew, which is why I've just been keeping an eye on it.

ETA: I just noticed that my anniversary date was only a couple of days after my last statement close. It will probably show up in this next statement.

Fun fact I didn't see on the FT boards.

I canceled my wife's southwest card May 1st to make room for the United app.

Got the pending and did Recon and they said it had to go higher and I'd get a decision in 48 hours and we ended up rejected (my wife accidentally said she wanted 10k in NEW credit and not reallocation).

So we called again a few days later and this time I made sure we were reallocating. Still went senior level but approved after a few days.

The Southwest card is still showing on her online account but is closed and probably will be removed at the end of the month, but my guess is that the senior level review was needed because of that.

So heads up when applying That if you can wait for it to totally close to do that.

Just looked up the SW offer and it looks like they charge the annual $99 fee on your first statement....WTF?

All other cards I have seen waive the first year

Always been that way.

The Plus version is $69 and often times offers the same 50k bonus.

$99 isn't anything to worry about when you get over $500 in travel

Can the fine folks here tell me if I'm onto something or misguided:

I have:
1) 120,000 Amex points, give or take.
2) 75,000 AA miles, plus my wife's 50,000 or so.

I would like to take a trip to Paris this fall (or sooner) doing biz class round trip from DFW. Obviously I don't have enough in any one account to do so, but if I use Amex points one way and AA miles the other, I think the math works. Anyone ever travel like that? The other complication is that with Amex's 16 airline partners the award tickets are all over the map but a quick search leads me toward using Canadair Aeroplan (45,000 points each seat). American is 50,000 per seat going the other way, after Oct 15.

Final update on the bora bora booking. Booked my return flight yesterday. It is not my ideal return legs from LAX, but it gets me my final destination, so I can now make some changes without change fees. I also booked my Air Tahiti flights to BOB. Cost was $699 usd.

I have already reserved a pontoon boat and a snorkeling trip.

One word of advice for people looking to do the trip. Make sure you have one of the AA cards when booking (as in don't cancel them before). The 10% reward bonus is nice when you are spending 100,000 to 130,000 points.

My final point total used for this trip is 430,000 points for about $20,000 value. This is a point value of 4.65 cents a point. Not my best showing, but certainly not the worst either. Hope this helps for anyone booking.

You called recon before getting rejected? I just got the damn pending on the IHG so I figured I'd wait to see what they say, but should I call now? Just bought this condo so maybe they saw too many hits on my score or something

I'll reallocate my Chase United Visa since I'm going to cancel it anyway in a couple months

Let me know how that goes and if worth it.

I'm starting to consider using my AA points on Hawaiian Air to book my HNL to PPT flights. Although it's only about $700 RT or so per person, that's what points are for. Especially since I have to pay another $350 for a island hopper each.

Any time I get a pending review I call recon. Usually right after if they are still open for calls.

This last time was the first time the CSR didn't just push it through after a few questions which I attribute to the facts stated.

Just go ahead and call tomorrow. And ya, just take some from that one or wherever, it doesn't really matter over the long run.

Yeah, last time I got a Chase card I had an issue as well and it was wrong which they realized. Probably same thing again and the credit checks I've taken lately for the mortgage, etc. Need to get my IHG points and start prepping for my Bora Bora trip
