After all this discussion, is there a consensus on the best card to earn points on everyday spending and bill pay to offset the cost of one or two vacations a year without all the gymnastics?

I got my cash back match from Discover this month. $286 dollars
That is pretty incredible for a free card.

Alright so I'm applying for my first credit card soon and wanting to get one with Skymiles since I like to travel. What would be the best one?
Been looking either Delta or Southwest

Hello credit card people.
My fuel expenses have increased by 100-125% as of recent and I see that to become the new normal for the foreseeable future.
Do any of you have recommendation for a card that focuses heavily on fuel purchases?
I currently use my Amex gold for everything, and have no complaints really, but if there is something designed for gas then I may get it for that purpose alone.

Getting ready to book a trip to disney through mydisneyexperience.com. I can't find any info if this would qualify as a travel purchase with my sapphire reserve, or if I should use my freedom unlimited instead. Anyone know?

Can anyone give me some quick guidance on how to time my new SW credit cards for points for early in 2019. I’m going for a companion pass in 2019 (earn it in 2019 so that I can keep it in 2020). I plan on getting the 40,000 point bonus after spending $1,000 on a personal one and then getting 60,000 after spending $3,000 on a business one. I want to get the cards (or at least 1) this year for Christmas shopping but to get the bonus in 2020.
Let’s say I go for the business one. How long does it typically take to get approved and get the actual card? (Days, weeks, a month or two)?
Then when do you get the points? Let’s say I get the card in November and spend $3000 by December? So I get the points right when I pay? Do I get the points at the 3 month mark?
Thanks in advance!

Finally have my credit score high enough to open another credit card but want it to be a good one.
What’s a good one?
We like to travel and never get the chance, so a points based one I can use for travel?
No annual fee or worth it if enough points?
I’m a n00b so any help appreciated

How often do places de-value their points? We use CSR for most purchases after we get our SW companion pass. I’d like to save up for about 500,000 Chase points to go with some Hilton points (I know the points are crummy) but I was thinking I could get to 1,000,000 Hilton points. I suspect by playing the credit card game and being wise with purchases I can do this within 5 years. I’d like to take a great international trip with my family (maybe Israel +/- Egypt). I don’t want to just drop $15,000 for a trip, but if it were “free” it would be great. But I’m nervous by the 5 year mark my points will be worth a lot less. Anyone have a historical perspective here?

I've got a few CC questions for the board (attempting this without starting a brand new thread and not reading this entire thread).
1. What are the most recommended credit cards for Hilton and Delta rewards?
2. What cards should I consider maximizing rewards for a vacation that will likely cost between $7,500 - $15,000?
Some background, I'm planning a Europe trip for next Spring with my wife, and I would like to capitalize on spending and credit card rewards for the trip. I currently have Chase Freedom and Discover it cards. I also have a 5% cash back card from PenFed on gas purchases. Where I currently live, Delta is the only airline at the nearest airport, and I have most of my travel stays with Hilton hotels.
I'm looking for travel advice from the board as it relates to credit cards. Hilton and Delta are my preferred hotel and airline companies, but I'm wide open for suggestions.

Friends, wife starting new position where she will be driving about 20k miles a year for work. we will be banking with Chase.
which would be the best business credit card to take advantage of the fuel expense?
or easier just to stick with Chase Ink?

See several reports of Chase giving $150 statement credits for the sapphire reserve. May want to call and check if you can get one. No luck for me

Any of you smart guys know if this is a good deal?
BOA Cash Rewards
We usually put around 5k a month on our current card and pay it off every month. We hardly ever travel, so I'm not interested in travel points if that's still a thing.

ThePointsGuy announced this morning that Amex Platinum is raising their annual fee up to $700 dollars
But you do get equinox and clear benefits….
Still
Every single comment on their post is from card members saying they are cancelling, 0 positive comments.

I just got the Chase Sapphire Preferred and received 1,000 points (1,000$) or I can cash in at 1,250$ with travel booked through Chase. This is a bonus I could not pass up.

Just recently got the Amex Reserve. I travel 60% of my job and just started getting per diem for food. So eating at the sky club when traveling versus spending $30 on a burger and beer. After a year I also get a a companion round trip ticket of any fare. So for me, the perks and how much I travel for work makes the $550 annual fee justified.

I dropped my Chase SR two months ago and I'm considering the Venture X. I've never had a Cap One issued card. Any advice or thoughts on the new Venture X?

Discover wants to 4506-C me...
they've been great over the years with a US based calling center being a plus.
I just can't wrap my head around them wanting that much private info from the IRS.
We spend about $5k a month on Discover and sometimes much more...use it for auto pays for utilities...almost everything for the Cash bonus and pay it all off upon billing statement.
Give me some good current rewards cards I can take my business to.
Any out there that lean "politically conservative"?
Thanks!
note: *Not necessarily looking for travel rewards
