On the surface, I don't know that I like hiring someone with zero coaching experience to coach up the most imporant unit on the field. Let's see how it all plays out. If he says the right things and Les/Cam are on board, I'm on board.

I'm not sure how I feel about that. On one hand, he was an amazing player and is a really good guy. You have to be really smart to play center, so I'm sure the knowledge he could pass on would be second to none. On the other hand, being a good player does not necessarily translate into being a good coach. Has he been doing any kind of coaching since he retired?

His professional experience could aid us in recruiting as well. There is no way a guy with that much elite experience can't help us.

"Throwing his name in" doesn't mean LSU is seeking him and wants him to replace Stud. Our other options will be vetted before we settle for someone with zero coaching experience, I can tell you that much.
