Friend of mine who is an excellent golfer and grew up in Augusta, Ga. sometimes caddies at the course for celebrities. He once caddied for Warren Buffet. When round was over and time for Buffet to pay, he asked my buddy if he had change for a million.

That joke really depends on the delivery.

Why can't people on these boards just chuckle about a clever story rather than cut it up and try find fault in it. I thought it was a good story that gives us some insight into Buffets personality, but apparently some don' think so .

He should have said "Sure. Show me the million."

It was funny the first time he used it but now it's every time we play golf. It gets old.

Stop forcing me to chuckle when I don't see something I want to chuckle at.

The story would be better if the golfer was Warren Buffett.

I would have taken a quarter out of my pocket and said, "Yeah, here ya go!"

Sorry, I just don't find anything in that funny. Your story makes it sound like Buffett is kind of an a-hole and "look at me", which is kind of a different perception than I had of him, considering he lives in the same house he grew up in.

I think it shows a good sense of humor, and that he doesn't take himself to serious.

I mean, it could. To me, it comes off as arrogant which I did not think he was. Guess you had to be there and hear his tone and see his facial expressions.

Believe me according to my buddy it was a joke, and everyone around them got a big kick out of it. I have told this to many other people and have never gotten any reaction but a laugh.

Maybe because they didn't want to hurt your feelings and weren't on a computer.

Warren Buffet was rejected by Harvard Business School when he applied. Just a little nugget for this thread.
