One dispensary was selling high-quality marijuana on Wednesday at $70 for one-eighth of an ounce — a markup from $25 for the same amount the day before, according to The Associated Press.

The initial rush will pass.

Just like the run on ammo the past 14 months.

Well yeah...why not raise prices if the demand goes that high?

They'll probably even out once the novelty wears off (buying weed just because "omg it's legal now!") and other states legalize.

400 for a oz of some high grade headies is not ridiculous. Prices will drop drastically IMO. The shite grows on trees.

This can't be happening.

All the druggies on here said the reason legalization was needed was to bring down the cost of all illegal drugs.

$35 an eighth a year ago in Breckenridge. Apparently in Summit County they've been allowed to grow a limited number of plants for personal use for years now.

Markets, adjustments, etc etc.

Real demand for the stuff was most likely strongly influenced by the illegal nature of it prior. Growers will make a killing until supply grows to meet or more likely exceed demand.

You know, economics and stuff.

For those of us who don't smoke, how much is an ounce? I mean is that like a case of beer, a keg, a fifth?

There will also be a rise in homegrown weed within the state.

I think the question we all need to be asking is "Can you buy weed with bitcoin?"
