Frozen- Worst Animation Film in Years? SPOILERS

Took the kid to see Frozen early on New Year's eve. I must say, this one was pretty bad. I usually like most of the kids movies, with some being great. It was walk-out worthy for the first half. The second half got a little better. Poor plot development, no explanation of situations, etc. Just terribly put together IMO.

I feel like you suck at watching movies...what was not developed or explained? It was all pretty straightforward.
I thought it was great, although it was a bit "song-y" for my tastes...but that cooled off a bit (no pun intended) about halfway through. It felt like broadway more than a movie (and the lead chick in it was a Broadway singer I believe).

That is the exact opposite of what I've heard. Many we're saying it was the best one in years.

I don't know, man. They never explained the 'powers' or the trolls. The parents keep them locked up, never to even talk? The queen runs away and wants to become a hermit in an ice castle?
Although predictable, the prince turning into the bad guy was a twist, but his plot to take over was developed awfully quick in his head. He friended her, fell in 'love', and then decided when she left to try and take over?
I know its a kids movie, but this one seemed like it was thrown together without much effort.
ETA: Sorry, edited title for spoilers after I posted this

my biggest gripe with the movie is that there were no songs other than that troll song in the second half of the movie.

Trolls being magical? Not much of a stretch.

After what happened with her sister, I think even she knew the best option was to stay away from anyone she cared about to keep from harming anyone again. And I gather from everyone's response when she let her powers slip at the party, it wasn't going to be an easy thing to explain away once word got out.

Where she can free from people hunting her down and doesn't have to hold her powers back. What's the problem?

You have just lost all credibility on this board.
Frozen was excellent.

It's not like they didn't have a whole song about this...

I liked the movie. Although I wouldn't call it "Disney's best film since The Lion King" like the ads mention. I still prefer The Princess and the Frog to Frozen. But it was far from bad. The trolls DID bother me a bit. Their scene near the end of the movie had that forced song in there. But other than that, I enjoyed it.
I will say that, leading up to the release, I was really kind of aggravated that Disney went the CGI route with this film (like Tangled) rather than going back with traditional hand-drawn animation which I'm a sucker for. But, after watching this it was pretty evident that the level of detail and beauty wouldn't have been there without CGI. The ice castle and the treatment of light within it were amazing.

No, where her powers came from. I didn't notice the trolls being magical, other than turning into rocks. The oldest one was wise, but other than their musical talent, not very magical.

I understand that. Still doesn't make much sense. Sure, the king thought she would be able to control them, but no go. I assume the housekeepers knew of the powers, which is why they kept them separate, but did nothing to help her for the coronation?

Again, understood. Just seems like an lazy transition for this part of the movie.

Went to see it with my little sister for her birthday, I'd say its one of the better Disney movies since Finding Nemo

I am having a hard time believing this entire thread is filled with grown arse men.

Is much of the "magic" ever really explained in Disney films? And they don't explain why the trolls are magical/powerful, but it would seem like they wouldn't need to...but they did show that they were: in the beginning when the parents had to take her to the trolls because of the accident. We saw them heal her then.

There was like a three minute song about that.
