So, it's your contention that LSU runs a complex offense with oodles of creativity?

Not yesterday they didn't, even with the WR pass. But yesterday wasn't all of last season. Or Miles's entire tenure here.

I love how people keep lying to themselves and defending Les. The offense is a joke. Lsu is the most boring brand of football I have ever seen. Anybody, can go in there and hand the football off like Jennings did. If Rivers is worse than him and Id really hate to see it. As far as offensive coordinator goes, quit blaming him we have seen the same offense since les has been here.

There it is. If the offense sputters it's on les. If it is successful it's not because of him.

We threw one for sure and a couple other swing passes to the RBs

Where was the misdirection?

We scored on a counter play. OBJ threw a pass on a reverse.

I've seen many high schools run more complicated offenses.

No you haven't.

Yes, there were.

There were a handful of option and read options

ran at least one bootleg and 3 or 4 option plays. We ran read option 4 or 5 times and it looked awful. We didn't need to run qb draws bc we didn't have any other qbs who could step in if Jennings got hurt.

Did you not hear Gruden and Tirico exlain how cameron has our wrs running NFL routes? They even showed examples.

Gruden talked all game about how much more sophisticated the LSU passing game was...specifically referencing the double moves, etc. vs reliance on the simple screens a lot of colleges run.

But what does Gruden know compared to you Rex?

And again, everyone seems to want to ignore a true freshman QB in his first start which was on the road in a bowl game with shitty weather.

I am dumbfounded by the OP. We had a +3000 yard passer, 2/+1000 yard receivers and a 1400 yard runner. Yeah I just love our simple offense.

I guarantee you that there are many head football coaches that wish that they could do on offense what LSU can do, which is - slowly but surely - move the ball down the field. It kills the clock, it wears down the defense, and it prevents the other teams from score 40 or 50 points like you see in Baylor, Oregon, Oklahoma State games. .

Dude had a whole season of practice and a month to prepare and that's the best he can do? You guys are really used to shitty QB play did you watch any of the games this year? Or just when Jordan Jefferson was the QB?

I think you must be referring to the inside sweeps by Magee. Those were not read options.

We most certainly ran the read option multiple times.

So making your first start as a true freshman in wet conditions has no impact? How far below 75 is your IQ?

sounds like abunch of excuses to me. The weather had nothing to do with his weak arm and horrible decision making. I've never seen a QB have that much time to throw get sacked that much that is supposedly an athletic QB.

Because you're an imbecile.

It had everything to do with the play calling, which is what you're supposed to have been complaining about.

Well he was a true freshman in his first start. Call it an excuse all you want, it is what it is.

I agree with you that it had a lot to do with it.

I agree to some extent. The main problem I have is that the offense can be a lot more creative without any increase in risk and pressure on a freshman QB. I think the current offense can actually put more pressure on a young QB if the running game is not as effective as it needs to be. Running the ball a lot is fine, but at least make it appear to the defense a pass is possible. Also, IMO, this style of offense is often a cause for the team's lethargic performances. The offense seems to suck any energy and momentum the team might have.
