I don't think that there was any doubt that Ajinca would be on the team over a guy like Amundson. We had to give Ajinca a guaranteed contract to him to get him to come over. He would not have came to the states without one.
Amundson was unguaranteed salary so it was easy to cut him. With Smith and Stiemsma getting healthy now, there was no reason for the team to retain Amundson.

I understand the move, but Amundson could be a decent player if he could only shoot. Rebounds and defends well and certainly hustles; he just can't score.
