The auto inflate PFD's are money well spent. Would be the best $100 a outdoorsman could spend when it comes to boating.

I've participated in a couple of searches, and seen loved ones agonizing as they wait for news. I'm so sorry for what you and your family have been through and the loss you have suffered, especially at this time of year, MSG ........

Like for many others, you and your family will be in the my and my family's prayers.

Chopiquesushi - Waders are deadly in moving water, even only like a foot deep if its flowing they are dangerous.

I was out in the basin yesterday running around, we Didnt have life jackets on, but I will change my ways.

MSG - prayers sent to your family.

If you can afford it, get the "hydrostatic" style. I've had more false inflations with the cheaper ones due to rain and humidity, that its cheaper in the long run. 20 bucks for re-arming kits get expensive.

Neighbor lost his two sons last year while they were duck hunting. They didn't have any PFDs on at the time, and couldn't get them on before they drowned.

I've seen how it affects a family, he's still not recovered and never will. Best wishes and thoughts go out to the OP and family of the deceased.
