Rapper Lil Boosie will be home even sooner than previously expected, according to his brother. The performer, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, could be home by Feb. 16, 2014 thanks to various programs he's participated in to earn early release, his brother and business manager, Taquari Hatch, said.
Taquari Hatch told NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune that a previously reported date of Aug. 18, 2014 wasn't accurate. Due to a slow down in the paperwork process at the Louisiana Department of Safety and Corrections, the automated offender locator system did not yet reflect the time off of his brother's sentence that had been accrued, he said.
Torrence Hatch's current date of release is officially set for May 16, 2014, according to Taquari Hatch, thanks to a substance abuse class Torrence Hatch recently completed. Furthermore, Taquari Hatch expects Torrence Hatch will be out Feb. 16, 2014 once the rapper completes two additional classes at the Louisiana State Penitentiary.
Whenever Torrence Hatch is released, he'll be busy. He's written more than 600 songs in the past four years as well as a book.
"He has plans to go straight to the studio to begin working on an album as well as his tour," Taquari Hatch said, who usually visits his brother twice a month. Lil Boosie is already scheduled for a music tour in "late spring, early summer."
Taquari Hatch wouldn't comment on the status of any record deals, but rumors circulated that Rick Ross extended an offer to the Baton Rouge rapper.
In addition to ramping up his studio time and setting off on tour, Torrence Hatch also plans to start a foundation for the children of victims of homicides, his brother said.
Taquari Hatch said the time since his brother entered prison has been fraught with various kinds of "misrepresentation and a lot of opportunists," which are just two reasons he's eager to have Torrence Hatch on this side of prison walls.
According to a previous conversation with Pam Laborde, communications director with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Hatch will remain on supervision through June 17, 2018.
Hatch's prison stay began in 2009 when he pleaded guilty to a third-offense marijuana possession charge, earning him a total of four years when the judge determined Hatch had also violated probation. In 2011, Hatch pleaded guilty to attempting to smuggle drugs into prison, which added eight years to his sentence.
In May 2012, Hatch avoided more time when a jury acquitted him in the 2009 murder of Terry Boyd. Michael "Marlo Mike" Louding was sentenced to life without parole July 9 for the Boyd slaying.

Is this the fifth time a release date of his has been rumored? I'll believe it when I see it.
And I'm not expecting much out of him musically. Rapper tend to diminish after prison time.

I disagree. I think he is going to do big things when he finally gets out. Dudes buzz has only gotten bigger since he's been locked down.
Rick Ross already said he's going to offer a shite load of money to get him and you know Baby is going to try and get him to Cash Money.

I know. From what his mama told mine he was only supposed to do a third of that 8 years and be released. He was scheduled to get out at the beginning of this year but was doing dumb things like getting caught with a cell phone that added on to his sentence
