I think they realize that Baylor football is passing A&M as a program. They have enough competition with UT, they don't want more threats.

Oklahoma State, TCU, and Texas all shut them down.

They are losing a lot of seniors on defense after this year and Phil Bennett is still DC. They will regress. 2014 Baylor will be 2013 A&M next year - offense will still be good but defense will take a major step back
If Texas gets a real coach they will be back to relevancy and ruling the conference. Just need a coach to herd all that talent.
And if TCU can even manage an average offense with their new coordinator their defense is good enough to win the Big 12 and their location helps recruiting wise.
Baylor this year is a blip on the radar.

They don't like how Baylor is better in both major sports and that doesn't appear to be changing anytime soon. Baylor is also getting a brand new stadium while aTm's tackle box is a dump.

Baylor is a small, private school unlike the sheep molesters down in CS who accept anybody.
The new stadium will be the perfect size for Baylor's fanbase. A&M is spending a fortune to renovate their stadium, but it will be hilarious when their are 30k empty seats every game when the aggies are fighting to become bowl eligible.
