Mettenberger Not Going to Senior Bowl, Focuses on Rehab

What's everyone's take on this? Is he missing an opportunity to network and display his football IQ, or is he showing his dedication to rehab?
Can't imagine his rehab will really suffer from a few days in Mobile.
From the Advocate:
Sorry if Germans, searched.

QB Zach Mettenberger and safety Craig Loston were both invited to the Senior Bowl, team spokesman Michael Bonnette said. Loston will complete in the Jan. 25 all-star game in Mobile. Mettenberger, who suffered a season-ending injury against Arkansas, will not go to the Senior Bowl to participate in activities outside of the game, Bonnette said. He will instead spend it rehabbing.

Let me guess, you have never played sports and if you have you have never had a serious injury.

My sadness over Mett's injury had more to do with this than missing him for one more game. Mett will now miss out on many of the pre-draft activities, and I really hope it doesn't hurt his draft stock.

I think he'll be able to do some passing at the combine (show off that cannon), and interviews, but other than that, he's just rehabing.

have you ever rehabbed a injury? I think it is a big deal to miss rehab days when you are trying to get back to a nfl level ability.

What can he show them, how to limp? Your question is major stupid given his condition at the moment.

Is he missing an opportunity to network

His QB coaches the last two seasons are pretty respected in the NFL. I don't think his "network" will be negatively impacted by not going to the Senior Bowl.
If he truly was a mid to late 1st rounder before the injury, and is still, according to some a 2nd rounder after the injury, getting healthy is far more important than "networking."

Torn ACL. Less than 2 months after surgery. He would be a fool of the first order to even participate in non-contact drills. And every day of rehab is important. If he can't demonstrate his physical skills (and at that point he can't), he sure doesn't need to swap rehab for schmooze.

every rehab session increases the chance he'll be able to do that

I can't imagine limping around Mobile for a week will help him in any way. This is dumb.

Rehab for ACL is usually 8 months to a year.

Mett to the Saints 5-7 round. I would be pleased with this. Learn under Drew. Aka Rogers !!

They wanted him to skip his rehab but he said:
