where are you seeing that Heady?
It is tradition for them to play the Tuesday in between JF weekends. Started in 2003.

gotcha, I try and hold off on adding it to the list if I don't see it in print. Gets sort of confusing otherwise.

Saw RL Burnside at the Maple Leaf in 2001. He was awesome.

Was there. Pretty damn meh.
Decided I'm pretty much done with all-star jam bands just riffing on standards after that.

It sounds pretty good to me. The addition of DJ Logic was kinda weird though.
Eta: that Benevento/Collier duo though

I like Marco and Logic I just think these allstar groups seem like they mail it in more often than not
I'd rather spend my time and money watching them work off of original material that I like
that is all
edit: for example, I'll still go see Charlie Hunter when he performs his own stuff but I just don't care to see him playing covers with other musicians

They probably never rehearsed or anything. Over the course of the two weeks that is Jazz Fest they could play up to 20+ gigs. I know Marco does. You can't expect a one-off thing like Electro Rage to come up with a setlist of original material. Hell even Dragon Smoke has been coasting off the same songs for a decade now.

I know. I'm tired of it though.

Still haven't seen this though. Been meaning to, I even get invited usually, but just haven't made it yet.

Hoping for some Phishy late nights at the Saengar

What's likelihood of that? Haven't seen them in about 15 years but I'd certainly try to do that.

Full band? Doubtful.
Individual appearances? I'd say pretty good.

Missed their residency at The Maison (I believe? Maybe it was somewhere else on Frenchmen St) earlier this year.
Actually was supposed to meet up with legendary poster Burt Reynolds last night at Maple Leaf for Eddie Roberts (New Mastersounds guitarist and current Maple Leaf Wed. resident) but had to bail.

I've heard rumors of Outcast doing Hangout Fest this summer. I guess they could play with both festivals, given there is not contract obligation concerning playing another festival with a certain distance.

Phish would bring nothing positive to jazzfest.
Let them come on their own time.
