All the Anti Monty folks, please name 15 proven coaches that are presently head coaches in the NBA that are better than Monty. Guess what? You can't.
I'll give you Erik Spoelstra, Greg Popovich, Rick Carlisle, Rick Adelman, Frank Vogel, Tom Thibadeau, Mark Jackson, Doc Rivers, and Scotty Brooks. That's nine, and there's a couple rookie coaches who have the looks of something special but you'd be a fool to bring a rookie coach into this argument because the sample size is too small.
You guys rather have Mike Brown? Mo Cheeks? Mike D'Antoni? Larry Drew? Mike Woodson? Jacque Vaughn? Randy Whitman? Dwayne Casey? Tyrone Corbin? That's just as many (nine) coaches that Monty is BETTER than (discounting rookie coaches for obvious reasons). Even Terry Stotts and Kevin McHale, who are coaching really good ball right now have career W/L % under .500.
Monty's a top 15 coach in this league, and plenty of GMs would be dying to have him. At this season's end there will only be 10 head coaches who have coached 1+ seasons that are over .500 win %. Maybe 12 if things go right for them. Monty's not bad off considering in his 4 years, out of 249 total games coached, he's been without a top 3 guy in 150 OF THOSE GAMES. 60% of the time he's been without either David West, Eric Gordon, Anthony Davis, or Ryan Anderson in 4 seasons. And you want to call him a bad coach? Get out of here with that nonsense.
While Karl and Hollins might be good coaches, i don't think either is a supreme upgrade over Monty. Stick with Monty people, his time is coming soon.

I totally agree with you. The time is definitely coming. I think Monty will at least be around through the end of this season and will have at least half of next season to prove that we have a squad.
There is no way an owner like Tom Benson gives Monty a 4 year extension to a coach that was asked to join the Olympic team as an assistant and then fires him. Those two things speak volumes about Monty, especially being asked to join the Olympic Team.
Monty knows what he's doing and it is only a matter of time until this team comes together under Monty Williams.
