You only get one year, if lucky before the kids outgrow clothes and boots. There needs to be a place to pick up used stuff and places to sell used stuff.

Academy at the end of the season has hunting clothes for 1/2 price. Basically the same thing.

Academy at the end of the season
I try to save as much money to spend after the season

I bought used years ago for mine. Goodwill, Jacobs well, etc
Problem with Academy is they do not wait until the very end of season. As soon as season gets near to an end, the dump everything very quick. I have gone in there many times wondering where their hunting clothes were

I am talking about a resell place for hunting stuff. Kids clothes really stick out as having a market. It would probably need to be added into an existing store to have make it year round but it sounds like a good business model.

Start a Facebook group. There should be a big demand for that. My parents had three boys and always complained about that

I don't want to do it, but someone else might.
Any upland hunters with little kids? I have a Cabelas shooting shirt size 4, long sleeve that I will ship someone if it will be put to use...

I dont see how one can blame Academy for stocking what sells best. I mean I guess that they could stock hunting clothes year round but it makes sense that they stock golf clubs too. Shitty capitalist company.
Wick, Check out some of the existing Facebook groups. Cajun Swap Shop is just one but they have dozens that are all the same with lots of rednecks trying to sell worthless crap.

Clothing swap, either "formally" or just here and there.
Unless, of course, you're saving the oldest one's clothes for hand-me-downs.

Wick,
You're right on about kid's outgrowing hunting clothes too quickly. I especially always hated how quickly mine outgrew boots. Heck, one year I bought boots for my son and he'd outgrown them in only 3 months. :bang head: As far as boots, the best thing I found was a product called "Boot Blanket." It's a heavily insulated overboot designed to put on once you get to the stand. I bought a pair that "fit" multiple children for many years. Now my wife uses them at outdoor sporting events.

Agreed. If you have buds or coworkers with younger ones this is an option. I have seen some of my daughters stuff passed down to my son then to a coworker who has several younger children and each time I see a pic it feels good to see some true ware on those items. just about everything my son outgrew has been passed on. I am sure if you posted some items that have been outgrown here folks would gladly take them off your hands.

At that point you know you raised them right, but at your own expense...
