Tiger Stadium Student Section Seating - Whats your honest plan if you were LSU

How big is the student section? 10K?
We know that there were better things to do this year for many of the students than go to Tiger Stadium.
My plan would be something like this:
-Back to the old method of every student has access to the game, with a catch.
-Everything is routed through the student ID. Must be valid and scanable.
-First come first served up to the point where no seating is available. The scanners can count how many people have gone in.
-Your fee bill is charged the amount of the ticket.
-You must scan OUT of the stadium if you leave prior to the start of the 4th (without a medical reason).
-If you leave early you will not earn any priority points
-Priority points will still be earned throughout the year at other designated events and away tickets for the following year will be selected based of those criteria.
-you could add something for upperclassmen, that seniors can start entering 3 hours early, juniors 2 hours, etc.
-OR you could make an olnine marketplace that opens a day or two prior to the game. Students have a window, based on their priority level to buy the tickets and print them.
bash away.

Ban for life if they scream STTD,B.

if students continue not to show up
sections 233 to 236 should be sold to public.

Let them bring booze in and don't get all pissy when they chant STTDB.

once you reduce the size of the student section, the students will not get those seats back...so that idea need to carefully considered.
In 5 years, LSU's home schedule may consist of only teams from the 5 BCS conferences...imagine a seismic shift in college football where the 5 power conferences break away from the rest of Division 1.
That means that the home games will feature better matchups, which will include more fan interest...something to consider.

Take away a few thousand seats and create a section for recent graduates. I don't know how you set the parameters, but I would actually buy tickets if I could sit in a section similar to the student section. After sitting in the student section for 4 years, sitting in a regular section is a huge letdown.

I like the idea of getting in on your ID, but that would also have to bring back a student fee for athletics, if I remember correctly sometime in the 80's there was a lawsuit on that fee. end result was the system LSU has today

sections 233 - 236 should be sold to the public as season tickets. that is the most glaring gap in the student section week to week...
also, the greeks should get sections 222-225 in addition to what they have in 221 and have section 105 be sold to the public as well. there is no reason for the greeks to have premo seats that the school would make good money on as season tickets.
that's my moronic plan.

I would get rid of the reserved student seating, make it all general seating. Then reduce it by a few thousand. I work with college students and when I ask about the game the following Monday, I am amazed at how many of them didn't go to the game. Most say they would rather watch the games from home. I don't know the cause, but today's student just doesn't seem to be into football as much as in the past in my assessment.

i think the student section is 15,000 now

Leave 5,000 where they are, for the diehard students. Move the rest to sec 643

I'd eliminate every bit of reserved student section as well as Section 233-236. Let them pack that area in for a few seasons before giving them anymore sections.

But every other fan can leave whenever they want? Yall act like only the students ever dont show or leave early. Its a university FOR students
And too many idiots assume that many of the areas of concern on the other side of the band is not part of the student section

keep the reserved seating, but they should have to pay extra for it...
now, what i'd like to see and i'm not exactly sure how you could do it to keep the classic look of the north end from the outside:
at the top of the north end zone, build a walkway on the outside at the very top.
set it up where it ties in to the ramps coming down from the east and west uppers as emergency exits. you'd put steps at the end of each row to enter the ramp...depending on how wide you make the walkway, you could add a few bleacher and handicap seating to make up for the lost seats...
what this would do is help take the fire marshalls out of the equation in how many people sit in the student section...you provide more exits, you can pack more students in like we sued to do...

Alumni like myself would love to be able to buy season tickets....

The way they do it is fine. Leave the students alone. I know you're jelly of their seats but seriously get a life.

Yep you mad at the students because they have better seats than you.

I think the idea of a recent grad section is cool. Still get a little student section feel as an alumni
Mainly bc I'm graduating
Probably not feasible though
