Is Sony making less PS4s than Microsoft making X1?

A buddy of mine is looking for a PS4 and it seems there are none to be had, however X1s are constantly flowing in at various retailers. The X1s are sold, but then more come in.

Is Sony not building them at the same rate as Microsoft? I know some will argue, but I do not see one console being that more popular than the other in the USA.

Edit: For clarity

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Sony is making 0 Xbox Ones.

Not sure. PS has sold 2.1 million consoles to this point though. Not sure what the number is on XB1. PS4's can't be found anywhere though, online or at a store. I'm not sure why they didn't prepare for a massive buyout, but hopefully some can be found or are abundant by at least January-early February. Madden can get me through this month and next month. After that I'm going to need something new and I'm not buying any more PS3 games!

Looks like Microsoft did well on Black Friday.

Walmarters buying more Xbones is not surprising.

I'm sure COD, Madden, and NBA 2K were the top sellers there as well.

That chart is telling somewhat. I read an article that Walmart stores would get only 6 PS4s for Thanksgiving weekend and 24 Xbox Ones.

So Walmart and possibly Target received up to 4 times MS over Sony???

It feels like supply is being suppressed on one side?

"Andrew House, who is the President and Group CEO of Sony said via a press release that, 'demand remains incredibly strong and continues to overwhelm the supply worldwide.' Sony believes that even with this in mind, the consoles will continue to sell, and also to evolve. They've noted that in the months ahead there will be 'new features and services' added to the video game console."

Poor, maybe, but the words "good monetary decision makers" and "walmart shoppers" aren't synonymous.

Like it was already said, PS4 has outsold Xbone since launch, which may explain some of it.

Yeah, I'd assume the PS4 is outselling tONE by a good margin, but I'm still excited to see the numbers. Both consoles claimed similar sales for their launch, but PS was only in a couple markets while XB was in 13. That would point towards SN being on top, but if both are pushing out the same number of consoles, I don't know how much difference the markets make.

Or maybe Microsoft is just flat out making more machines.

Maybe sony has a different concept of supply and demand
