Not offended, just curious why these kids think we should be their fans when they choose a rival

I agree totally. These kids are living in a pipe dream if they think that committing to a hated rival instead of committing to your home school will not bring some sort of grief upon you and maybe your family.

News flash for all of the recruits that may read and take to heart what some fans may write....this does not only go on at LSU, this goes on at every and I repeat every major college program football program. If you are not with us, then you are against us. This is the real world and if you will cry at every little thing that someone may say about you or your family then you my friend will be in for a rude awaking in trying to live this game we call life.

trust me, it takes a much bigger pair to keep your mouth shut when emotions run high...trashing a kid or their family on a message board is about the wimpiest pussy action I can think of.

But continually badmouthing the program and the coaches, and having a negative attitude about everything has an effect. A vocal minority does exactly that, creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Maybe you should read again what I Quoted from another poster. He didn't trash anybody. Everything that he said made perfect sense. Enough of this chicken little bullshite. Some of you sound pathetic.

Other schools won't allow this (especially Bama).

They heavily moderate the boards and toss people that are excessively negative or trolls. It makes for a boring board but it stops people from damaging their football program. Bama fans have got this right IMO.

Didn't realize all these "tough" bad arse recruits were so sensitive! My God, they are in for a real shock when they enter the real world. If they let a small % of fans who talk bad about them influence where they go to school, see ya!

I believe in keeping it positive but when a recruit says "I'm going to find out who my real fans are" then chooses our biggest and most hated rival. Give me a break. We just found out who his real friends are and it's not the Tigers. If you want Tiger fans to like you and be a fan of yours then choose wisely, that means choose the Tigers or accept the fact that we aren't going to like you. What the hell is so hard to figure out.

it's not them, it's the bama, ole miss, florida, texas A&M recruiters that can easily pull statements from here if they want to negatively recruit

or just echo what they read or here to sway a recruit.

You can give us too much credit or not enough, but the point is... words do matter. Choose them wisely. Especially in something as temperamental as college football recruiting in the SEC

I agree with this. I know it would suck but if someone had to pay for access to this board then you wouldn't have the number of fakes coming in and bashing people and what ever ranting is done stay in a place that only members can see. This is one of if not the largest message board that is free and open for everyone. $ filters the fakes or either beef up the moderating.

Fine with me.

You want a "wild west" board where you can call Les Miles an idiot without consequence or do you want to land recruits? Because the reality is the paradigm has shifted from even 5 years ago. Message boards are no longer tucked under the bowels of the internet. They are at the forefront where everyone, include recruits and their parents, can read. Add Twitter to that, and we're in an era where fans have more access to recruits/athletes than ever before.

Before this recruits could be insulated from negative fans, but that buffer is now gone. Maybe it's OUR responsibility to police ourselves, not the recruit's responsibility to just shake it off. These are still kids were talking about here. The ones that don't let it bother them are remarkable, but I can't blame the ones that read some of the vile stuff on here and have some degree of reservation about our LSU.

And I'll tell you another thing that hurts us; there are very few fan bases that are constantly crying about winning 10 games a year. I could probably count the schools on 3 fingers. It's very easy to look at our fanbase and call us spoiled as a whole, because we are.

Some of our own fans do more damage than anyone else. That contingent that can do nothing but gawk over Saban, all the while calling Miles a buffon, idiot and everything else under the sun. They think they're being good fans though, but they're doing nothing but undermining LSU's recruiting efforts.

Maybe it would possibly help if Les didn’t get on TV and act like an idiot.

To me that has more of a negative effect than the LSU fans that come out in public and acknowledge on a message board that they slapped their forehead when Les did his latest impersonation of a buffoon.

Maybe Les is a secret genius.. If so it would help the persona LSU fans have about him if he revealed it.

I love Les in a "crazy" uncle sort of way.

Many people on here are too stupid to see the real picture....bashing a kid, their family, their friends, the area in which they've lived all their lives and their coaches only gives other colleges (especially bama) additional ammo in which to take these kids away. Telling a kid to F off and "they are dead to them" is asinine. Calling an 18 year old and his parents liars is doing nothing but breaking down any relationships these recruits have....I am waiting one day for a recruit to say publicly that one reason they are not going to LSU is because of all the negativity that is spoken on these sites...and of course you people will bash him also

There is no reason to bring Nick Saban into this.

Think about that one..

A player is willing to go to a school that has a coach that will treat HIM like shite on a daily basis over a school that has a handful of fans that will give OTHER players grief because they went somewhere else??? Really?

I blame this on Chicken and the admin of this board.

Because if they are doing this for advertising dollars I get it. But if they are doing for the Love of LSU sports they should police this crap better.

Only place I see the negative bad mouthing to be fit is score board during the game. That is a place were emotions run high.

But for people that consistently spew propaganda to get coaches fired or dog kids that commit elsewhere and down talk entire units and current players shouldn't be allowed.

You guys curse fans out for dumb stuff very little unity on this board unless you are part the same thinking. If someone challenges you then its eat a dick go frick yourself.

THIS FALLS ON THE SHOULDERS OF THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THIS BOARD!

If you want freedom of speech start your own board. But don't dog out your team coaches, players recruits etc.
