Auburn did throw a ton more with Cam there. They simply don't have that type of QB. Marshall has the running part of Cam, but not the arm. That's honestly what made Auburn so tough that year in 2010. Cam had the full package of skills.

That said, it was still a run heavy offense. They average 284 ypg rushing and 214 ypg passing.

Auburn with Newton:
21.1 passes per game
46.6 rushes per game
2.2:1 rushes to pass ratio

Auburn this year:
20.6 passes per game
50.1 rushes per game
2.4 rushes to passes per game

We were running it at will on folks and many missed catches from our WR's. I think Coates is at 50% of his catchable balls. We need a WR that can go out and take the ball. the one big thing we were missing this year

figured that, he is going to take it down to the last minute. He is seeking the attention. Hell we probably wont know for sure until he steps foot in a classroom

why is there a need to recommit to a place that you are already strongly committed to? this just makes absolutely no sense at all!

1 Malzahn's schemes
2 Marshall's arm
3 Lack of quality WRs
4 some combination of the 3 or something else?
Combo of the first 3.
1. Malzahn's scheme is run first and we are having so much success with the run it is hard to find a reason to pass much.
2. Marshall's arm is very strong and he throws effortlessly, but his mechanics are off just a bit causing him to not be as accurate as he needs to be to take the next step.
3. We have a ton of quality WRs, but no stand out that has stepped up to be the man. Several have tons of potential, but too many dropped passes and not enough consistency.

I would expect the passing game to take a big step forward with having Marshall on campus for Spring practice and not learning the offense on the fly. I'm sure D Craig is trying to sell DW on this.

Yeah, something just doesn't add up about that. Especially after going thru that celebration this past weekend. It would've been too easy to just do nothing, or even say today that he was staying with Auburn.

Eh. Who knows what goes thru the mind of a 20 year old?

1) Nobody being able to stop our rushing attack
2) Nick Marshall's limited accuracy
3) Scheme

We've always been a pretty heavy run team under Gus Malzahn.
