Is Landry One of the Most Respected Tigers Ever?

Not saying the greatest player, but at least among the most revered and respected. In his 3 years I can't recall anyone ever critical of him. His tenacity on special teams early on, his workman like approach, his consistency, demeanor, maturity, and clutch performance seems to have entrenched him in Tiger folklore.

If he came back for another year he would enter the legend status. He's already one of our best.

He's up there with Kevin Faulk, Kyle Williams, Rohan Davey, and Michael Brooks to me as my favorites.

He should be
Give me him over any WR we've had since I've started watching LSU football without hesitation . (1994)
He blocks like a lineman. He catches balls that just shouldn't be caught on a weekly basis. He stays out of trouble. He works his arse off. He gives everything he has no matter what role he's been asked to fulfill. He's always open. Just an all around prototypical football player on and off the field.

We have had some great receivers, but I think he is the best all around player I have ever seen at the position. As many have said, he catches EVERYTHING, he blocks, he works so hard, contributes on special teams. I am excited about watching him on Sundays. I have enjoyed him thoroughly.

He looks like a great NFL receiver right now....he could have one of the best pro careers of lsu receivers.

And it all started with the special teams hit vs. Auburn in 2011. Gif Please!

Before Friday there were still a lot of posters who would tell you that OBJ was better and that Landry wouldn't do well as a first option.
He was one of the most unheralded talents on LSU in my opinion. Should be 1st round in the draft and a bargain for an NFL team at that.

Great point, and the answer to the question is yes.
IIRC, he came of age on special teams against auburn. Since then, all we ever see is him being where he's supposed to be, block downfield, showing mental toughness, not to mention his physical toughness. I love the young man, and think he'll do well at the next level. I need to revisit my favorite top ten tigers of all time. I'm 47. My earliest lsu memories are the golden tones of John ferguson talking about bert jones, brad Davis, and later, Charles Alexander. IMO, Jarvis Landry is about to bump someone of my favorite top ten tigers of all time. Which means nothing to anyone lol. Just saying.
Thanks Landry. You epitomized what we want every tiger to be like, and you've made lutcher proud.

I was thinking earlier today about the highlight reel LesMiles.net will do for him when he leaves and it occurred to me it will have to be at least 10 minutes long just to get all his circus catches. One of the best LSU players I've ever had the privilege to watch.

that's a little too far
I was about to say the most talented, but I think it is more about his courage, and vicious determination to make EVERY play that surpasses pretty much everyone I can think of. There have been many as talented, maybe even some more talented, who never applied that talent to the insatiable desire to win. I respect his instinctual pouring it all out on every play, that he clearly doesn't think about, it's just who he is. Just imagine if every team member gave it all as consistently as him. That, IMO, is the difference between good and great. IF only LSU's coaching staff could extrude that attitude from every player.

I miss all the people saying he should be playing safety
