Places to duck hunt near BR without a boat

Hey guys, I'm a relatively new duck hunter and my buddy who I usually go hunting with took his boat in to get it worked on. I have family coming in for Thanksgiving from out of state and was hoping to take a couple of them duck hunting this weekend.
What is the closest place to Baton Rouge(I'm willing to drive a little bit)/ best place to go duck hunting that doesn't require a boat? Like a pond or something that we could drive and then walk to and that's not terribly deep?
Like I said, I'm kinda new to this so my apologies if this is a stupid question. TIA

Hunt Sherburne. Few people, lots of ducks.

Yea, like I said, I wasn't sure how realistic or possible that request was. But I appreciate the suggestions, I'll look into them

I don't want to say you are shite out of luck, but no boat, no previous scouting, and near Baton Rouge. You might just be shite out of luck. Sherburne has acreage but I don't know what kind of luck you will have...

Sherburne is probably your best bet. I have never hunted it, but heard it can get crowded for walk ins.

I'd try to book a guided hunt

You have a 4 wheeler? Catahoula isn't too close to BR, but you can hunt via ATV.

I missed where he said he wanted to get his family shot at/arse kicked/tires slashed cause some DB's think they own property paid for with our tax dollars.

Sherburne isn't what it once was. Pretty much sucks now.

Sherburne holds a lot of ducks but a lot of work via walking only. I'd recommend a local guide if you have family coming in

There's a walkin spot I know of at big branch but some kids literally camp there for the spot

Sherburne is closed this weekend, FYI. They'll give you a $300 ticket and charge you $26 dollar per duck, which they also confiscate. Ask me how I know.
