Its a trap. Bama will for sure be #1 now....Just watch, I've seen this before...

I agree...unfortunately Hand was the guy who put them over the top I believe. Plus, they will get another couple of highly rated guys. Their lead will be too large to overcome. This is just HYPE to keep people interested more in recruiting.

We'd need to grab the seven or so perceived locks...plus Quille and another stud like Adoree, Adams, McDowell, etc
not entirely impossible
not entirely impossible

Highest ranked class ever = Florida 2010?
Amazing that they are so bad this year with that talent.

Wasn't Driskel in that class and I think they lost a lot of guys to trouble. They were kicked off the team or something. Not entirely sure.

They had some studs in there though. LINK
Mostly defensive talent.

Mostly defensive talent.

Yea its awesome if we can get that. But, even if we dont I wont think any less of the class that we will end up with. Especially if we get the local kids, particularly the NOLA kids. We get the NOLA kids im happy happy happy.
Also, while it looks great on paper to have the "best class ever numerically", not all of those big time recruits turn into big time players in college football. Especially considering the expectations with having the best class ever numerically and all those 5 star recruits. If those big recruits turn into average college players, hes considered a bust.
So yea UF might of had the best class ever numerically, but those ratings are of those players in high school. Not in college. Some of the best players in college football and some of the best players to play at LSU in recent years werent consensus, big time recruits.
I would rather have average recruits that turn into great players, than great recruits that turn into average players.
That said, still would be awesome to beat that number set by UF

Rivals will move guys around in the Alabama class, like an OT to a Center, to make the guy the top rated player at that position, to boost their points.

Check the offensive players in that class.

You get number one if you land all the expected locks (dupre, noil, willis, fournette, brown, etc), plus hootie, adore Jackson, ride 4 quille, and a surprise (valentine, springs, McDowell). That also may get you highest score ever. Not impossible, but that's a lot of what if's.

When Rivals made the gaurd for AL the #1 center it was the guys from BOL, who did it. BOL is now with 247 so it is poosible. The tweet the OP linked was from 247 not Rivals.

If we get the guys that we should, I won't care what number they rank us.

If LSU lands everyone they expect to and Quille comes home, it will tie USC for the most 5 stars ever signed. And the rest off the class is mostly highly rated 4 stars. It will be the overwhelming #1 class. Although if they can find a way to work in some Bama bumps who knows.

I agree completely, but the experts have used the exact opposite excuse to deny Quinn his fifth star this year. A few have openly said they don't think he translates to college. Stars and ratings are a rough estimate, but UF's 2010 class may have lived up to the hype if it weren't for things like laws, injuries, and transfers.

There's no way anyone is catching bama on rivals.

Scike just said Bama was a lock for #1 on all services.

First, using Rivals, let's just go down .1 of a point. Alabama 5 6.0s....LSU 1 6.0. Alabama has 2 6.1s...LSU 0 6.1. Of course, the assumption is that LSU will get several 5* which is very possible. But Alabama will probably get at least 1 more 5*s, maybe 2. The bottom line is I would NOT be surprised if LSU got more 5* than Alabama. The problem mathematically is Alabama is going to beat LSU on high 4* (6.0) and the rest of the class overall. Like I said, Hand put them over the top.
NOW, if you tell me that Cameron Robinson is going to flip to LSU, that of course as the Wizard of Oz said "is a horse of a different color." When you lose a 5* to the team you are trying to beat in the rankings, it is a twofer...one you did NOT get and one that the other team got.
