You can't just bring someone down by grabbing their neck and expect to get away with it.

I added those to my thread.

It's a clear as day call.

Definitely has him by the facemask. The ref was standing right behind Brees and was able to catch that view. That was the right call.

jesus I thought that was a borderline (if not bad) call but it looks pretty flagrant in those pics.

I couldn't watch the end of the game. Who recovered the fumble?

I don't give a shite if it was a questionable call!!!

Some of you are too young to remember but this franchise got the benefit of the doubt in countless games during the 1980's. frick them, there are NO EXCUSES NEEDED. You don't need to analyze or replay shite!!! If you know a 49ers fans GLOAT and flip them the middle finger. They deserve it like no other franchise!

It was borderline but because it's Drew Brees, It was called. Same would've happened for about 4-5 other QBs.

Had that been Tony Romo or Matt Flynn or someone not considered "elite", it'd be just another down, sack, fumble.
You'll get mad but only 'cause I'm right.

Too many people focused on the arm across chest/neck.
This shows shoulder pad to helmet hit. Brees' helmet is moving towards his back left due to the shoulder pad impact.

He was hit in the neck, not the face. It depends on how you interpret the rule, if the neck is fair game or not. His head wrenched back because of the force of the hit around his neck, and the ref saw that thinking his head was involved because it moved. He was NOT hit in the head.
