I have to go about 25 minutes between the restaurant and a friend's camp with a couple of buckets of fried fish and french fries.

What's the best way to transport it?

I can think of three things to pack it in:
1. Cooler - not sure the best way to go about this
2. Cardboard box - pack towels in a cardboard box, put food on top of towels, and then another towel on top of the bag of food - or so I've read
3. Insulated soft bag - I've only ever used these for transporting cold groceries

If you dont have a way to let the steam escape it will get soggy in a hurry. Some styrofoam clam shell take out containers, slice the corner of one side off will help.

But in reality you are traveling 25 minutes with fried food. if it was fried chicken, you'd be ok. Fish and fries? Those have a half life of about 7 minutes.

Best bet. When you get to the camp, run them under a broiler or a hot oven for a few moments.

Fried food doesn't travel well if you're trying to keep it warm. If you enclose it, the heat will create steam and it will become soggy. In my opinion, room temp fried food is better than soggy hot. If I order fried food to go, the first thing I do is open all the lids to any "to go" container before the steam ruins it. You could punch holes in the containers similar the Popeye's cardboard boxes, but don't block them in any way.

Do not, I repeat, do not put it in the front seat. It will never make it to its destination.
