Ever been shocked to learn that a musician was white?

I love when this happens. I'll hear songs/full albums from musicians, and they'll have voices that are so deep/soulful I assume it has to be coming from a black person, then boom, they're a cracka.
My top 3 in terms of shock value:
1) Joss Stone
2) JJ Grey
3) Joe Bonamassa
The opposite situation is welcome (you thought they were white, turned out black).

Was this thread inspired by the story about The Police in the Warehouse documentary?
Anyways, Joe Cocker.

Tony MacAlpine also surprised me.
And on a related note, the first time I heard Silversun Pickups I thought no way was the lead singer a guy. I really thought Brian Aubert had to be a woman.

Bonamassa I learned fairly quickly (less than a month after first hearing his music), but I went 2+ years assuming that Stone was black. JJ Gray was a bit more complicated. I actually assumed that he was white, but I thought that Mofro was black and did most of the singing. For those not familiar, Mofro is just the name of the band or something, he's not an actual person. Gray does all the singing.
