I'm done. Before anybody comes and says that, "well he doesn't have Ryno" bullshite, let me say this. Plenty of other coaches go through periods where they don't have integral parts of their team and somehow manage to not look fricking horrid. When we're in trouble, he looks fricking lost,

yep...you don't get time and you don't get excuses in the NBA...he's had plenty of time.

I'm still surprised he built up the reputation he did while doing absolutely nothing noteworthy...impressive really

He got a good reputation for having a bad team play hard and dealing relatively well with the Chrissy Poo saga. He's plateaued or declined since

There was the clip of him practicing with his team that everyone said, "Wow, what a "hands on" coach".

Then his team played hard for him at the end of the 2nd year, and the ESPN "analysts" mainly Wilbon and Jalen Rose the night of the 1st lottery were ranting and raving about Monty saying "how great a young coach he was".

I've been beating this drum for over a season, and I got ridiculed to no end. I don't want a cookie or anything. I'm just glad that all the Monty love is finally coming to an end.

A couple of things first:

The myth of Monty's 3rd quarter ineptitude has gone off the rails. Look up the scoring numbers every season he's been here. The team has been about even, not collapsing every game. And the offense was league average last year- Monty can coach up offense.

As for tonight, the Suns got hot and Jrue/Evans just killed the offense.

Obviously some of those problems come down to coaching. Monty has much to prove, but people took the preseason too seriously. This team needs time to figure it out.

My 2¢: He needs to play Morrow more and go small more often until Anderson gets back. Steimsma looked good, but just has nothing on offense. But as it stands, he cant change the fact that Evans cant finish right now or that Jrue is a liability with the ball.

And they need to figure out how they want to cover PnR. Some of it is playing guys out of position, but still lots of blown coverages giving up corner 3s and layups. Monty must clean that shite up or he wont last long.

Every team we play "gets hot."

You missed last year I guess. Plus if Evans and Davis continue to miss shots at the rim, the offense will always suck.

Indiana shot 42% from the field. Is that "hot?"

If last year was a good offense then yes I guess I did miss it.

43% from 3 and 36 points in the 4th quarter. Guess they just got hot.

1st game stats are typically sloppier.
EVen with that

the pacers shot almost 60% in the 2nd half

the 2nd half is what kills us since MOntys been here

I don't know. I don't think he's incapable of coaching but I don't know if he's the guy here. He may be better suited as an assistant.

I'm sure there's an advanced stat that shows that Monty is actually doing a good job.

Right now, he's probably a good assistant coach.

I think eventually, Team Benson is going to make a move to shake things up .. Too much invested in this being a decent season .. I don't think Monty's the guy ..

I agree that we may see this sooner rather than later. I've been on board with Monty, but the fact remains that despite all the talent we've been able to put together, the results on the court are literally the exact same. Build up a nice lead in the first two quarters, come out in the 3rd looking like utter shite, then complete the collapse in the 4th. I'm getting pretty tired of it.

I only got to watch the last 6 minutes but the end of the game looked pretty poorly managed. I'm fine with the small ball, but why were they in desperation 3 mode nearly the entire time I was watching?
