Walking Dead spinoff - Carol's mindset - possible spoiler warning

I felt this warranted a separate thread since Carol is the first original member of the group to go since last season.
What do you think was running through Carol's mind when she got in that car to drive off? Where does she go? What is her plan? What will she do for food? Shelter? Protection? Will we see her again? I can't imagine being in her position. You have survived several years with this same group. Your daughter died and you still forge ahead. You finally find a place where you can establish a sense of community and then you get banished for taking extraordinary measures to protect the group.
While you can understand Rick's point of view, you have to feel bad for Carol. She is literally now in a position that she was in when the ZA started except that now she is completely alone.

If this is the spinoff then I say BOOOOOOOOO! I like Carol, but I want the spinoff to be more different than that would seem to allow.

Then start your own spinoff thread. Nobody is stopping you. These are thoughts that I had about Carol that would have been lost in the bigger thread. If you have something you want to add about Carol then do it. If you want to talk about something else, then do it.

What and annoying and horrible character to give a spinoff too.

Tough crowd in here today. I, for one, like Carol. She had become a valued and contributing member to the group. The group is going to miss her contributions for sure.

They aren't bad thoughts, and I actually could see them going in this direction. As much as it'd be cool to see them put the spinoff in another setting like New York or Los Angeles, they are already set up in Georgia and probably getting favorable tax incentives to film there.

To me, I think her intentions were good. But in a time where trust is paramount and any kind of little transgression can be really blown up, she stabbed and burned two people, whether they were going to turn into walkers or not.
I think it was a bit of an overreaction on Ricks part, but I also can't blame him

When I said spinoff, I meant a spinoff from the larger thread that is up to twenty pages. I wanted to talk about Carol without it getting lost in the larger thread. I was not implying that the Walking Dead is going to use Carol as the focal point for the new series that is a spinoff from the original series although they certainly could.

Rick could have blamed it on someone who died already.
Honestly, I don't understand ricks pov at all. People have done things equally as bad and everyone shrugged it off and moved on.

His little shite head kid Carl shot another kid in cold blood and he didn't do anything to him. The way he handled this is bullshite.

My bad. I think Rick is going to tell the truth although he'll probably frame it as Carol's decision rather than King Rick banishing her. The reaction will be interesting because they've been slowly moving Rick toward taking back control of the group, albeit reluctantly. A fight over this could make him step back up again. He stepped down because he was tired of his decisions leading to deaths, but him not being in charge lead to these deaths.

Hope I don't come across wrong - it's your choice to start a separate thread - but really, I don't think any thoughts about Carol would have gotten lost in that thread. Most of the stuff in that thread is about her because the episode itself was mostly about her.
Again, not trying to tell you how to post but there is some good discussion about Carol in that thread I didn't want anyone to miss.

And Rick killed Shane in cold blood. Rick's answer to that was that Shane was going to kill him so it was justified. Carol's point was that these people being sick was going to kill all of them and she was trying to get out in front of it so her killing was justified. The only difference is that these people had not turned yet and weren't going to murder anybody. It just may well have been that they turn into walkers and kill someone or the people die from catching the virus. Either way I think Carol was right. Tyrese is pissed that his slampiece (who was also the mom from the tv show Teen Wolf BTW)was killed before she was a walker.
Hard to say what I would have done if I was in Rick's shoes but I would like to think that I would show more loyalty to someone that had been a part of the group for three years.

I say give her a few minutes in the upcoming episodes and let us see if she dies or finds a group and be done with it.
Then again leaving it up to the imagination of the audience isn't bad either. Makes people talk about it.

So long as you don't catch a cold.
As for me, I'm glad they are weeding out some of the shitty original characters.
Andrea? DEAD.
Dale? DEAD.
Lori? DEAD!
Carol...BANISHED!
Carl better stay on the straight and narrow...

What sucks to me is that Dale and Andrea were really great likeable characters in the book. It's a shame they made so much the opposite that I was glad they were gone in the show.

I think she will go to the Governor's town for food and safety. The Gov. could be reintroduced this way, possibly joining forces against the thousands of walkers coming up the road toward them, that stopped the car.

IMO, her mindset was that she knew that Rick is lost in lala, pretend that life is normal land. He's so afraid of becoming a monster, that he's lost sight of reality. This was pretty clear with her, "you can be a farmer, you just can't be ONLY a farmer." He's living in a dream world where there is zero danger and he and his kids and friends can have a normal life without guns. She knew she was never going to change Rick's mind.
So, I think she's going to go find some place to plot on how to take those girls. She made a promise to treat them like her own daughters, and she's going to act like that. IMO, it'll go something like:
- Carol hides out close to the prison plotting a way to take the girls.
- Rick tells everyone that Carol killed them. People are split. Some are pissed that he kicked her out without their input. Tyrese is pissed because he can't kill her. He continues to go crazy looking for his own death.
- Carol decides to break into the prison and take the girls. On her way, she sees Tyrese in the middle of a zombie death (like he's tried to die in multiple times now) and she some how saves his life.
- He is initially pissed at her, but ends up forgiving her after his sister dies, turns and he has to kill her himself.
- They make sweet love.
