Does the FDB consider Blue Runner products crap?

Blue Runner not only has Red and White beans in a can, they now have gumbo, etouffee, and jambalaya base. Tried the gumbo base and found it pretty good once I added some spice and other ingredients to it. Yeah, it's not as good as making it from scratch, but it's not too bad when you're in a hurry.
What say you?

The red & white beans are legit. I always keep it on hand for a quick meal when there is no time to cook and also for hurricane provisions.

Don't care what anyone says. The beans are legit. I usually add some to my home cooked to thicken things nicely.
Or I use them when I make my quick cheat red beans and rice.

The gumbo is OK in a pinch.

Red & white beans are good if you need a quick meal. I usually add stuff like sauteed bell pepper & onion (I keep some chopped in the freezer just for things like this) + whatever meat. Top them with green onions also.
I haven't tried the other stuff...wasn't there a thread on here once about them and several people said they were kind of blah? Also, they seem kind of pricey for what you get--isn't it like $4 a can, then you have to add your own seafood?

Hard to find Blue Runner here in FL but we eat the heck out of the red beans...

True story.
I went on a 3rd grade field trip to the Blue Runner Cannery in Gonzales.

Definitely not. They make quality canned items.

Take their green beans and a can of diced tomatoes. Season to your liking, cook for a while and eat as a low calorie veggie side dish. Add some sautéed onions and cooked bacon bits to the bowl on the table if you like.

It's what Calandro's makes their red bean and white bean plate lunches with.

They make a pretty good product. I rarely use them but if I'm making a bigger batch of beans then usual, I'll add a can to my nearly finished beans.
If they're good enough for Frank Brigtsen they're good enough for me.

I really like the beans. Red and white. I've had the other products at a fishing rodeo and was not impressed. Although that isn't a fair test.
I get hungry every time I pass the plant.

Lo and behold, went to mom n laws and she had bkue runner red beans as a side. Served over rice wasn't bad, not sure if she jazzed it up or not.

If you like their products, who cares what a pack of anonymous assholes on a message board think?

I keep the white beans at work for a quick lunch a lot. Easy sideto make when I have ham or sausage to add in as well. Anyone who knocks it is an a-hole.
