Haven't Chip Kelly's and Jimbo Fisher's teams been good but fallen short year after year? You do realize their success doesn't hold a candle to what Miles has done right? And that is playing in weaker conferences and weaker OOC schedules.

So, are you happy with being good, but falling short year after year like UT, UGA, UF, OK and LSU have done with their current coaches?

We have greatly outperformed all these teams in the last 10+ years

Neither of those teams have the natural advantages of LSU. They are good when they have elite coaches, but they should never outperform LSU, UF, UT, UGA, etc.

There are no more than five or six schools in the country that should be able to stay on the field with an LSU program that is hitting on all cylinders.

I hate when people say "well who would you replace him with?" Um let me think
David Shaw
Kevin Sumlin
Chris Peterson
Kirby Smart
Charlie Strong
Gary Patterson
James Franklin
Saban/Meyer obviously
Cam Cameron
And at least a couple others on the college level and that's not even considering the coaches and b ooordinators in the NFL. There are also plenty of coordinators on the college level that just need that opportunity. I would bring in someone a little younger preferably. Bring back the vibrance we once had.

Good post!! Agree completely with the Richt comment. Richt is a GREAT person but just like Miles he is only a GOOD coach. There are some GREAT coaches currently not coaching that could be available if the money is right. And I think $4M+ is the kind of money that gets LSU something better than CLM.

I can do without Kiffin..............

I can dig it but as f*ed as Kiffin is, he'd be an improvement over Less for at least a couple seasons.

So being lucky makes you good? Okie state losing to a huge underdog and getting a second chance at a team that beat you at your place makes you good? All the teams that lost last season to let them in makes Saban good? Oklahoma losing to Kansas St in 2003 let LSU in. I don't deny that Saban is a great coach but to overlook how fortunate he has been, while playing a weak schedule, is ridiculous

Urban Meyer? Urban Meyer quit on Florida and his contract? Thats unforgivable to quit when u preach fight all day because of your profession but youre the first to pack it in when things get tough. He tried to quit the year before. He couldnt handle the stress and lasted a whole 6-7 years depending on how u want to count it and he had a Heisman Trophy QB for 4 years of that. Claimed to have an illness that was going to cut his coaching career short and had to resign? The reality was he couldnt handle the SEC players or the day to day recruiting grind to stay on top in the SEC. Isnt it funny that his mysterious disease went away the exact same day that easy arse Ohio State called. He's a fraud. He knew he had no chance to remain on top with Saban now in the mix. He quit and lied about an illness in order to do so. He's a great fit at OSU and will win as many games as Saban moving forward but make no mistake he doesnt have the stomach to coach in the toughest league against these SEC teams and coaches and he knew it.
We can continue to diss Miles, he makes it easy to do so with some of his game mgt decisions but the reality is he's in year 9 and still plugging along. Theres a lot more to running a big time program in the SEC than having one weakness. Ask Meyer how easy it is.
If Bama didnt have Saban, Miles would have at least 1 more Championship and possibly 2. Would we be having this conversation if this was the case? Saban is the only coach imo that can do a better job at LSU than Miles long term, 10+years. And we all know that he's never getting that offer and wouldnt accept it if it were offered.
Im open to hear who would do a better job at LSU than Miles. Make sure LSU would offer and the coach would accept and lets put that list on here and compare each one of those to Miles.
